I always liked the interpretation of Ghost Rider we initially had. Is Johnny forced to fulfill his contract? Is this demon controlling and relishing freedom but influenced by Johnny's personality traits? Is it a cooperative relationship (a great example being Venom and Eddie Brock)? Of course we learn there's much more to it later but I very much enjoyed the first transformation. Especially since Johnny was in excruciating pain vs the end where he can do it willingly.
