@@Ilzum_Gopke I love Dracula's brides. Marishka (the blonde with yellow dress), Verona (the brunette with green dress) and my favorite, Aleera (the one with auburn-copper hair and pink dress). I share the theory of the director, Verona, is the wife, and the other two are the mistresses. And the actresses who play them, superb: - Josie Maran, originally from the USA, plays Marishka. - Silvia Colloca (married to Richard Roxburgh who plays Count Dracula), originally from Italy, plays the role of Verona. - And, last but not least, Elena Anaya, a proud Spaniard like me, is Aleera. I must add, that if you compare it with the Coppola film, here the brides, no less stronger, treacherous, voluptuous and deadly, have a more active role, no longer as the Count's guardians and hunters, but his most loyal lieutenants. Bravo, I loved the movie. PS: If Anna had succumbed to the Darkness and, therefore, turn into a Count's bride, her colour dress would have been red (like in the masquerade ball).

What I really love about this movie is that the setting, the vampires and characters are so believable. The brides are cruel as they should be, not just sexy and stoic monsters, but they displayed emotions such as grief, rage like anyone else, since they’re partly human. They also command respect out of the film’s main characters - their presence is always taken seriously. The protagonists on their end don’t hesitate to kill each other at first encounter, as they’re strangers - it’s not because Anna is sexy and Van Helsing is an adonis in disguise that they start immediately doing the nasty right in the town square, unlike other movies. They also stay true to their motives, Anna doesn’t get side tracked by Gabriel’s interest in her, they set out to accomplish what the story was building up to.

Here's my guess. It's been speculated that Verona was probably from a royal family maybe she used to be a queen or a princess. Apparently aleera and Anna already knew each other maybe they were childhood friends until she was bitten and turned into a vampire. Absolutely. Since CGI wasn't as advanced before as it is today, they had to work a lot harder to make it look realistic. Or mix real elements from the set with CGI to achieve the best result. Now everything is CGI, and they believe that the audience will no longer notice the difference because technology has advanced a lot, so they don't work on it as hard as before.

The cgi was extraordinary for 2004, so was the costume & monster designs, & the action scenes were *chef kiss* 😚🤌 One of my favorite things about this movie also, is Dracula’s Wives. Uh so basically Dracula and Gabriel were both soldiers of the holy order, but dracula fell in love, and the love was forbidden or something, so they tried capturing his love but accidentally killed her, so dracula performed an unholy ritual to bring her back and Gabriel was sent to kill him for this. Dracula made a pact with the devil with his dying breath, and Gabriel was so distraught about killing his friend that he begged god to help him. God erased his memories and blah blah blah

This entire movie is an ode to the Universal Monster universe. Much more so than the new movies. What the writers of those movies neglected to include was the over the top campy-ness that made the originals so great. This movie doesn't take itself too seriously which is why it works.

Still love this movie to date... underrated... have watched this multiple times now, but i still feel this movie is amazing. Just in awe everytime i watched this. Still cry at Anna dying... just superb in my opinion. I hope they make this same level of awesomeness in the near future. @@ApocGuy umm NO let me get a bit sciency on Yo ass ok LOL F = ma Force = mass x Acceleration Look.... if you have a heavy object ok that can say lift a cow 'Lets say this object weighs 2 Tonnes which we agree can easily lift a Cow ' so... mass in Kg is 2000 and let's just use a standard of 2 m/s/s (metres per second per second) to illustrate my point of why inertia matters so the Force involved if a 2000kg object moves at 2m/s/s is F=ma 2000 x 2.5 = 5000 so you have 5000 Newtons of Force Now let's keep everything the same and change the mass to a 60kg Vampire travelling at the same acceleration now it's not rocket science to figure out the force will be less but .. here it is 60 x 2.5 = 150 Newtons so.. clearly the object with more mass has more force HOWEVER...... If the 60kg vampire is travelling at 100m/s/s watch this..... 60 x 100 = 6000 so .... THE SLOW MOVING HEAVY OBJECT generated 5000 Newtons but THE FAST MOVING LIGHT OBJECT Generated More.. 6000 Newtons it does matter mate, it does matter whether the vampire was travelling fast AND.. SHE WAS but when she was lifting anna she wasn't You can't just say screw inertia, it's physics yes it's a movie but there are still physics involved and.. there you go so let's plug in your numbers shall we ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ screw the inertia; two persons weight maybe 150-170 kilos (movie based), cow weights at least 2 times if not more. in reality vampire would flop over the cow and ended biting the dust :p . ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- a cow weighs more than 2 people which weigh 170kg let's even say 180, so 90kg a person so you're saying that cow weighs double 170 ok, let's call it 400kg for arguments sake shall we and the vampire is 90kg Fair enough ??? now.. just accept this ok, so i don't have to do more math 1kg = 9.8 Newtons, ok so to account for 400kg to lift the cow..... 3,920 newtons are required well if 90kg has reached an acceleration of 50m/s/s 90 x 50 = 4500 newtons it's totally possible mate the 4500 newtons is easily enough to lift that cow THAT I OVER COMPENSATED THE WEIGHT by the way there you go
