The home area of the Isnags of Apayao actually extends into parts of Ilocos Norte and Cagayan. In fact, the Malaweg language of Rizal in Cagayan is closely related to the Isnag language. Ilocano is also the defacto trading language in the whole Cordillera and Ilocos region, the Cagayan valley and pretty much all of Luzon north of Pampanga and Bulacan. I find it really cool that Ilocos Norte celebrates the Cordilleran culture and their close relationship.

Finally, I've been waiting for you to visit my hometown and it has definitely changed a lot since I left. It also brings back a lot of memories and I'm glad you are taking your time to soak in what it has to offer. This is why I love your vlogs as you explore and learn a lot about the Philippines. I am jealous that you get to do this, but i get to live vicariously through your vlogs. Cheers to what you're doing and keep sharing the love and positive vibes. Definitely have some BASI for me. BTW: I did vote for you to buy the shirt as it matches your attire. That was a great choice in color. And according to IG, there should be some sand dunes and beaches in store for the rest of your Ilocos Norte tour.
