My hair is SUPER thin and intolerant of pretty much everything. I tried shampooing the bottom and conditioning the bottom and your right. This is the first tip from youtube or pretty much anywhere that has ever worked. It's amazing, day 3 and my hair looks great. I'm speechless. Thank you soooo much.

Kassie! I feel more and more every day as if you are my role model, and I kind of wish you were my life coach. Hope you're well, and I thought I'd share this with you. I've started wearing the same hair for three full days, and today, on the third day, I got more compliments on my hair today than I have ever gotten for a single hair-style before. All I did was a half-crown dutch braid pulled into a bun, it took about five minutes. I got compliments from friends who were literally touching my hair trying to figure out how I made my braid, and then when I went shopping, a store clerk and a cleaning man at the mall complimented my braid and hair. I thought of you and how I owe my new routine to you and your channel! Thanks!

It's not healthy to wash your hair daily. It strips all the natural oils, causing your hair to produce more oil. 2nd & 3rd day hair looks & styles better anyway. To combat oil from boy shampooing daily. Dry shampoo, duh! Baby powder works just as well too, gives great volume as well. I love this video Cassie. Nice to see I'm not the only one who doesn't wash my hair daily & sees the benefits of doing so.

Cassie I LOVE your videos! Please make more beauty videos! I trust your opinion on products as we share a vast amount of similar products! There's a huge amount of youtubers putting up makeup and hair tutorials, but only a handful of them use 100% natural and organic products. Out of the very few that do, the lighting they use and camera quality is so poor that I don't really want to waste 15 minutes of my life watching them. Your videos are always informative, fun, great quality, and to the point. Your choice of products is always amazing too, you choose moderation and quality over quantity. Just want to let you know that I really enjoy watching your videos :)

Oh Cassie! It's quite remarkable how we are both quite similar! Thanks to your videos I went from washing my hair 3 times, to 2 times a week. I don't need to use any hair powder because I experimented with Tea Tree Oil. By placing a few drops around the crown of the head, and then wait 15-20 min, take a shower, and you'll be surprised how it will balance the oil production of your scalp, and you might not need to use as much hair powder (even by working out so much). So, give it a try Cassie, it's always wonderful to be a minimalist when it comes to the amount of products to use for the body and hair, as long as they are the right ones. And thanks for the video, the humour that you and your boyfriend add to these videos bring delight and joy to anyone's day. So, thank you and take care my dear girl. RR

yes my dear, always keep a small bottle of tea tre oil at home because it is an excellent antibiotic ointment, it also helps with other cuts, burns, acne and oily scalp (not to mention that it will relieve congestion too if you place it in a diffuser or in a hot bath ;-)

It's really refreshing to see this type of outlook on haircare, particularly Day 4's "I'm gonna get another day out of this!" Granted, I maybe take that whole thing a bit far (my hair's finer in texture so it's usually oilier more quickly) but I don't see it as the end of the world to have a day or two of "bad hair".

Outstanding video. Newer subbie here been watching for a while but have yet to comment until today. THIS. I've been searching for a solution to work hair dilemmas for years and I think this may be the answer. I prefer to wear my hair down on most days because its less complicated for me but haven't found a method to do so with hair that isn't freshly washed. I end up with a sloppy pony tail in the back that doesn't look professional or a bun which can get old. Now, I usually just clip my hair back when showering on days where I skip washing my hair. But I'd love to know how you tie up your hair while showering. When I tie mine up it gets kinks in it no matter what I do. I am definitely going to try your method for 4 days and see how this works. So far I've been doing the pre-poo method 5 Reasons You Should Pre-Poo Your Hair and Demo but I'd love other options like yours. Thank you so much! Hugs and kisses from California. Gina
@tammystiletto
@tammystiletto 10 жыл бұрын
Hey if you get kinks then just get a dollar store shower cap or use a few alligator clips and wind each section of hair into little rolls or twisty buns. It might even scrunch your hair depending on you type.

My hair has a wavy coarse texture to it, but I almost do the exact same hair routine and it works perfectly. My hair tends to be on the oily side, especially now that the weather is changing back to warm here in the southern US. I am finding myself needing to wash my hair more, clarifying with baking soda about twice a week, then using my all natural bar shampoo. In the winter I have found it necessary that I condition my hair with raw apple cider vinegar, and using my jojoba oil on the very tips of my hair. Thank you for sharing the hair powder. Hopefully it will help me this summer with oiliness.

Dry shampoo is my life saver! I have super straight, black hair so when my roots get oily it's not cute lol. I put it up into a half pulled bun too, or I take my bangs and pull them back to make a faux-pouf, then put it all into a ponytail. Shampooing daily really irritates my scalp, and air drying helps get me the volume I like. I don't like teasing my hair though, so I'm still trying to find a solution to it!

hey Kassie I don't know how the area is where you live, but i live in an urban city where i have to commute to school everyday by taking public transportation such as the bus and the subway and it's very very very *very* dirty. the subway smells like pee, i see rats underground on the train tracks, the ground is black and nasty, i mean...its disgusting around here and because of that i developed this type of phobia of germs. throughout the day i know i will touch my hair, either putting my hair up in a pony tail or moving it away from my face. at the end of the day i feel like my hair has soaked up all those germs and bad aroma from the bus, train, people coughing, the outside, etc., and that i HAVE to take a shower every day i come home, because if not, all those germs will transfer onto my pillow and i would develop acne. since i have this tendency my hair is very dry and dull. what im wondering is, don't you feel as though your hair absorbed so many germs throughout the days of not washing it? and if so how do you deal with knowing that and still being ok not washing it? does it seem unreasonable for a dirty environment to transfer on the hair, to the pillow, and in the end cause pimples? i just cant do this anymore, washing & shampooing my hair every single day, its so exhausting and its damaging my hair :(
@CloudyApples

I would definitely wash more if I lived in a heavily polluted area. I live in a big urban city, but my neighbourhood is pretty chill and relatively clean. My city tries to be pretty green. The skytrain is electric, many the busses are hooked up to weird electrical wiring, my boyfriend drives an electric car hahah. Of course, the ground will never be clean, big cities will always have rats, and some dark corners will smell like pee. But if one doesn't brush close with that kind of stuff and takes care to be hygienic, you can attempt to space out your hair washes. I still wash my body almost every day because I love to exercise. I let my hair tell me when it should be washed, if that makes sense. Spacing out washes to this extent was a process for my hair, I had to find gentler products so my hair would produce less oil to compensate for what it lost and I could leave it longer. Play it by ear and do what is right for YOU! What's right for me definitely is not right for everyone. That's my honest answer, and I really hope you a routine that makes you happy
@Holly-im2pb
@Holly-im2pb 9 жыл бұрын
I understand what you are saying but after those germs transferring through the daily life will mean all of the germs won't be on your pillow and there wont be Yat many. Also there is only a small chance of you getting spots from everyday germs such as the ones you listed. Ues it won't be great but it's not that bad. That's like my cat walking on my pillow after walking God knows where and catching birds and walking in rain water and jumping in bins, so when I lay on my pillow I have to wash my hair everyday which I dint. I have a shower everyday but I onky wash my hair once every two days lol xx

***** It sounds like you live in NYC, like me. Well, sorry to gross you out, but I routinely don't wash my hair for 3-4 weeks. I have "ethnic" hair and a tight curl pattern, and my hair is dry, so, the less I wash my hair, the healthier it is and the longer it grows (and it has grown very long, all the way down my back, since I started washing it less frequently). Hair gets very dirty, even if you wash it every day. You will survive. Washing your hair daily is really not good for you, and also not for the environment (putting more toxins into the water system every time you rinse your shampoo out). When I sit on the train, I usually put a scarf behind my head if I want to lean back. I also put my hair up when I sleep and I often try to wear a scarf (healthier for hair and it's a bit cleaner). Even my friends with not-so-"ethnic" hair are following suit and washing their hair only once or a twice a week now after seeing me do it and not smell or look nasty. If my scalp gets a little gross, I take tea tree oil on my finger tips and massage it directly in. It's anti-fungal and anti-bacterial. And then I just oil my ends since my hair needs daily moisture (this may not work for you depending upon your texture, but I'm just giving you some ideas, in case you're interested). Daily or even every other day washing is totally unnecessary.
@Deerosse

If your worried about germs you are doing the right thing by placing it up in a bun or even try putting a beanie on .In healthcare setting the reason all nurses and dental hygienist have their hair up is to lower bacterial count so that really helps .if you want try to wear a slap cap like she uses on your head every night so the germs arnt on your pillow and you can wash the slap cap more frequently or change your pillow cases weekly or even every other day. if you are worried about acne try wearing your hair out of your face as much as possible or only shampooing the bang are to keep your hair oils off your face which cause acne on the outer cheeks and forehead....also companies like treseme sell a wet spray shampoo that may help :)Hope that helps .

But I recently started to realized that my scalp was getting dry, itchy, and started to flake over the time I wasn't washing, which you'd think wouldn't happen because your scalp is getting oily. So now when I wash my hair, after Pure Clean, I use the Head and Shoulders apple conditioner on my scalp along with the deep conditioner on my end, and its helped my scalp a lot :)

Loved the video :) I don't wash my hair too often either because I'm on accutane which means my scalp produces less oils but I love the hair styles. I want to try out the oils you mentioned as well :)

Lovely video as always :) I was wondering if you could maybe do a video on how to transition from washing every day to a routine like this? xx

This is just too much heat styling for me, almost 3 days in a row, but your hair looks healthy and beautiful! I'm just trying to avoid heat so my hair can grow more healthy, I'll maybe use it once a week. Thank you for the tips :) by the way, love avocado oil and macadamia oil ;)

I'm so glad I was able to help! Just make sure you ease out of washing your hair, it was a long process for me to get my hair used to the lack of washing and drying products =]

This is great! Thanks so much it really helped, usually I wash my hair every two days but I'm trying to grow it out so the less I wash it the better, but by day three my hair usually looks gross, hopefully with your tips I can go 4 (Or more!) days without washing!

I can't go a day without bathing and I wash my hair every other day but when I wash it I wash it with two eggs and let it sit until it's stiff then wash it with cold water and olive oil on the tips. Then everyday I brush my hair and spray the roots with apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil to clean my scalp. Occasionally I will spray my hair with salt water after my shower and put it into a big cap that won't disturb my hair too much and the next day they will have curled and the intensity of the curls will depend on the amount of saltwater I used😊 this is just a good way to minimize the use of heat on your hair😊
