Thank you so much for sharing this! Rufus reminds me of our Scottish Deerhound Wesker, who lives with my son in the USA. I miss him dearly and watching Rufus was such a tread! Rufus is very well trained, - Wesker is a runner and would disappear into the woods if he was off the leash! The behavior of these dogs are so amusing, they run for hours and then sleep for hours, and yes, everywhere...couch, bed, their bed, floor, armchair......... or they sit at the window and look outside forever! I just love their character and would get me another one in a heartbeat! Oh, watching the whole dog-gang was very cool, they get along so well! Thanks again! Stay safe and healthy!!! Glad you enjoyed it. Rufus isn't always well behaved!! He sometimes does whatever he wants and ignores me. He did a runner on me today and chased a cat! But he is usually good and great in the house.

He's so lovely! I've been looking for a Beddy-Whippet here in the US and have had no luck. I'm supposed to be in Ireland in September and wondered about the possibility of finding one there and to bring home with me.

I'm speechless. You mean this is NOT a Scottish Deerhound? I'm from the US and I've never seen or heard of a Belington whippet. I'm familiar with beddlingtons and whippets separately but not together as a lurcher. Wow! What a gorgeous dog!!! I would have sworn it's a SD. I so wish lurchers were more common in the US. They are such all around great dogs. And this combination of breeds is gorgeous. What does he weigh? He looks a little smaller than a SD which is perfect! Thank you for sharing.

He is 14kg! Looks big because he is fluffy but when he is wet he looks very whippety! Lurchers are the best. Yes he is smaller than a female SD.

Our Beddy Whippet flew over from the UK (we are in Canada) right before the pandemic forced incoming international flights to cease. He is 6 months old now and an absolute joy. Hes either ready to run or just sleep, there is no middle ground for our boy. We love him to bits, a great dog.

@@woollymammothfibres Yes. He is from Hutcherleigh (so outside of Devon). Everyone here are constantly saying they have never seen a dog like him and often think he is an Irish wolfhound puppy and is going to grow into a giant beast. He is for sure one of a kind here in Canada.

Thanks for the video, your dog is adorable. Hello Turtlepower. I live in Canada too, on the WestCoast. I have always loved Irish wolfhounds, deerhounds and borzois. My building has a height limit on dogs but now I might actually be able to have a mini version !!!!!!! Mind blown. We are still caring for our senior dog so not looking yet but, hoping we might be able to find a breeder in North America.

Yes he is a big dog compared with other beddy whippets I've seen, I've met lots of girl beddy whippets and they are a lot smaller but depends on the parents of course

Well it depends on weight and how much daily exercise but Rufus is 14kg and gets about 30-40mins (often longer) off the lead and another 15mins on lead. I give him a scoop and a half of food a day so that fills a medium sized bowl, and sometimes I give him an egg or other bits too. When he fills up he stops eating- he’s not a greedy dog so would be hard to over fill him!

Btw mine is a reaaaaly fussy eater .. he only eats the cat food out the cat bowls.. won’t touch dog food! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Or you know of course what ever we are having 😂

Our Maya got a liver cirrhosis when she was 4 1/2 year old and died later. Please check your dog's liver enzymes occasionally.
