Beautiful. Addo is a jewel of a park. I had a wonderful time there when I visited, while living in Durban many years ago. The drive from Durban to Cape Town is gorgeous and addo is a must stop along the way imho. And Matt thanks foe all the .22 videos. Oddly my home state in the USA has the same restrictions on air gun caliber as in SA so I’m always glad to see people shooting the latest stuff in the smaller calibers.

I drove this in 2016 in my Troopy and saw noone else, even in the campsite. It was a very memorable experience. The ruins of the farm half way up the mountain made me think what it would have been like to live in such a remote place before cars or good roads!

The Sundays River is full of Orange River water. Brought down from the Orange River via Darlington Dam and then down the Sundays River. So therefore not rain water, not local rain.

Hi Matt, Thank you so much, that was (as the americans say) truly awesome. Love your Toyota, it puts my Hilux to shame. What are your tyres, are they all terrain? You make a handsome couple. Just loved the scenery. Thank you both of you so much again for all that you put into making this and sharing this.

Yes, BF Goodrich all terrain. I think all terrain is best for me as I have to cover a lot of tar roads to get to my off-road spots sometimes.

Hi Matt- been watching many of your videos, great content. We are about to embark on a combo of Namakwa Eco Trail, Richtersveld NP, and southern Namibia. Would you recommend I invest in Tracks4Africa maps on my Garmin, or rather go for Gaia GPS on my mobile? I have the free version of Gaia and it seems really useful compared to just having a separate map on the Garmin. Your thoughts?
@mattdubber Жыл бұрын
I only use GaiaGPS and I’m super happy!

Beautiful scenery, visited Addo in 2019. May I ask, as I grew up on a farm in the Eastern Cape, why are windmills now referred to as ‘wind pumps’? It’s a direct translation from Afrikaans. I’ve lived in Australia for 46 years, so enjoyed this
@mattdubber2 жыл бұрын
Windmills and wind pumps are two different things - Wind mills mill and wind pumps pump😁 So these are all wind pumps. They pump water from boreholes.
@lizmohr-bell40922 жыл бұрын
@@mattdubber sorry, have to disagree. Have checked with family farmers in SA, and the consensus is that it’s a ‘new’ terminology for an old system. Each to their own, and still enjoy your videos
