I thought a 3 curved ABS blades fan generate more stronger winds correct? 2ndly the bigger the fan does not means more windy? The smaller fans are usually more powerful?

My current fan makes an electric hum that bothers me, but I like white noise so I run a box fan that just makes a light wind noise. Shopping for a large fan and close to the ceiling with lights. A remote isn'ta big deal.

The hum from some fans can be very annoying.

@tadmarshall2739 I had a 5 blade Hunter installed soon after my post. Hardly makes a sound and blades look like they came off a P47, stirs the air very well even on low.

im very confused right now. here in the USA, all fan boxes have guides ON the fans. tip of the fan blades at least 2 feet from the ceiling for optimal airflow, different sizes for different square footage, and so on. literally everything about that contradicts everything about this video. im not sure which to follow.

NekrosProjekt thank you for your comment. The environment in which our fans in the UK are fitted differs quite a bit from yours over there in the US. Our ceilings here are a lot lower than yours and in most cases it isn’t practical to drop a fan by 2 feet. If that was attempted here in a standard UK bedroom then you’d find the fan would be about 3 feet above your head as you lay there. Could be interesting when you get up in the night for the toilet. Our rooms in general are also a lot smaller than yours so sizing by square feet isn’t as relevant here. I would suggest that if you’re unsure I would stick to the guidelines of your own country. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

Btw while bigger is usually better. If it’s too big and the blades are too close to the wall, the fan will be ‘suffocated’ amd not move much air.

Thank you for the great guide. Strangely your website doesn't open from Ukraine which is strange, as I might have bought from you.

Is there formula to select ceiling fan it is give us detials

I have a 36” fan and it blows good air and it doesn’t make a noise and also doesn’t spin that crazy

But what if my bedroom is 3m x 2,5m, and ceiling is 2,5m? Should I use the bigger fan or is it not enough space for it and I should seek smaller ones? Do you have any particular model recomendation considering all said in the video? Sure i would like with a remote and lights and quiet.

In Australia these type of fans cost around two hundred dollars for a good quality one so converting the price and allowing for Uk vat which is double that of Australian gst why are your $400?
@UKLightingAdvice4 жыл бұрын
Jonny M thank you for your comment. Pricing is not set by retailers but by manufacturers so I’m guessing your question is probably better aimed there. Comparing a fan here in the uk to a fan in Australia is quite a difficult thing to do. Fantasia don’t supply their products over there so a direct comparison based on quality is practically impossible. Different costs are involved. We appreciate your comment and wish it was as simple as that but unfortunately it’s not.

In the 1970s the ceiling fan was practically unknown in the U.K. We in India longed to be in cold countries like England.

Nope I want a fan the spinning like it's a helicopter taking off. They throw more air. I have one of these slow moving fans and it doesn't throw any air.
