Why this popped up in my feed, I haven't a clue, but I love it. Great song, lyrics and recording. Very whimsical, in a good way. I can spend day recording tracks for perfection, and it's usually the first couple of takes I wind up using because of their freshness and "no thought". Later you become conscious of trying to do it right, they usually become rote. One comment, I love this dog...you need more dog in the song. :)

Thank you for this fun video! This song is great- first recording session!?! I never would have guessed. Did you use the TLM103 and sm7 both for vocals? I have been borrowing an SM7, the sound is incredible. It holds its own against the Sennehiser 441 I’ve been using, which is a thousand bucks! Thanks again Travis.

Hi sam! yeah conor killed it. i think we ended up using only the sm7b for all the vocals, and then u87 on the geetar. yeah that sm7 is a classic :)

This sounds fantastic! I have just bought a Tascam 414 mkii, i don't know much about analog gear but there is a considerable amount of tape warbling as I play through what I've recorded. I'm using a Type 2 Maxwell tape, which i've seen is compatible. Do you know what the cause of this would be? I'm a little clueless on my next step! Thanks!

I would get a brand new tape the shorter it is the better the fidelity will be then see how the warble is

@@travisraab totally! thanks for the reply :) did you not run out of stereo tracks? im hearing at least 2 rhythm guitar tracks (deliciously panned), 2 vocal tracks, then the lead electric and slide... did you move these to logic or bounce some of the tracks to mono (vocals maybe?)

Goes hard. I’ve got a line on a local 414 (regular model) for $250. Are you choosing this over other comparable 4tracks? You’ve got some testing experience now but this one was your first unit, I think. Also there’s an 244 posted…I’m considering. Doesn’t have slow speed option. Does the 414? I value simplicity workflow in design above all. Thoughts?
