It was fun seeing Van Life Luke again. I'm going back through some of your older videos because I just purchased a '21 G that's similar to yours. I've been living in a travel trailer and pulling it with a pickup truck but decided to park those on my lot in Florida and travel in my Travato for easier and nimbler movement. I made this move because of your "stretch the ruler out and see where you are on the timeline" exercise, and found I'm WAY on the short end. No more time to waste!

As I comment before we are 4 inside our Travato 59g and the bed in the back as the bed in the dining area fit well two people each. I sleep with my daughter and my husband sleep with my son. So depends if you are a move sleeper person can be difficult but if you are more quiet person it’s not problem at all. There are some times my husband and I sleep in the Murphy bed and its comfortable. Also we are outside doing so much activity that really when we go to sleep we are really tired. So in my experience this car can fit 4 people without any problem.

Thanks for the thorough overview of the “bedroom”, Scott. Very helpful as I’m having trouble deciding which Travato layout I prefer. One tip for you, in case you ever spill wine on upholstery (or carpet, clothes...) again, there’s a product called Wine Away which miraculously removes wine stains, almost instantly and without scrubbing. I just purchased a 2014 Travato G. I needed a bit of body work - a mirror was broken, the lock on the sliding door needed some work and I needed running boards for the driver/passenger front doors - I'm on the short side. I see the newer models have slightly higher beds and more storage below...I'm jealous. I'm currently mapping out how to do storage below the bed. I'm leaning towards covered bins which will be in the hallway during the day. I too like to "make" my bed each day....what is it about putting it up that makes it seem better???? Thanks for the insights.

Haven't seen it done. The space on the wall at the end of the bed (opposite cargo doors) may allow for a small TV, and I mean like 15" maybe. That is because the mattress fold up constricting the available space when the Murphy bed is up. I use my 12.0" iPad Pro as a "TV" handing it from the wired basket fixed to the same wall. Works our pretty good then the bed is down.

Scott, I thought I was definitely going to get the KL until I saw you and Kevin compare living spaces on his channel so I decided to investigate the GL more thoroughly and your channel as well. Glad I did. I am going to ask a question that may seem odd: I really want to have a spare tire but so far the only option I have found requires giving up the rear tow hood and the patio LPG connect. Doesn't seem like we should have to do that. I guess these are 16" tires unless one has the NPE (I won't be ordering one.). To keep all of my features, what about putting the spare in a zippered cover and storing it under the murphy bed -- opposite wall of the sliding floor cabinets unless needed. Hopefully I won't be smelling toxic tire if the case is fairly good but I would appreciate feedback from anyone who knows or anyone who has a better idea. I would love to put it on the rear passenger door but know nothing about reinforcing hinges for the added weight etc. Thanks Scott and viewers.
@gosmall.livelarge4 жыл бұрын
thrilled Linda to know we had a small part of your Travato journey. I’m confident you will love your Travato GL!!! Spare tire... useless until you need it right. I don’t think putting a spare tire in your hallway / garage storage would work simply because is won’t fit. Some have utilized the tow hitch to put a spare tire on the mount that Attaches to the hitch. I choose to upgrade the tires to take more punishment reducing a tire issue. It is in the back of my mind. Worst case is you utilized the pressurized tire glue inflation kit that comes with your Promaster and/or call roadside assistance. Maybe someone has other options?

Another informative video - thank you. It does seem like the "G" is designed to be ideal for a single full-timer. I wonder how much narrower Winnebago could make the unusually large bathroom without hampering the use of the toilet and shower? Perhaps Winnebago needs a third floorplan for the Travato, one with smaller bathroom and a wider murphy bed so it could be ideal for two full-timers.
