One thing about Brown. Edmonton fans can see his effort and heart, all season long. Ya, his numbers look bad, but he has always played his heart out, and contributed in any way he could. He's never been a floater out there. He takes too much pride in his game to do that. There is a reason he got a standing ovation when he scored his first goal of the season, even as flukey as it may have been, recovering from that injury. He's struggled through it all season, but never took a night off, or even a shift off. Oilers fans love the guy, and rightly so. He's the epitome of a heart player.

The third player was a mile back, and the second defenseman focused completely on the Penguin's trailer, who was not far behind. The defenseman who did engage blew the play totally. No offense, but this was no comparison to McD's goal.

Lemieux looked to be at half-trot while McD was sprinting. And I don't think winning the cup has anything to do with this discussion. As a Oiler fan from day one Mr. G will always be the GOAT. Watching those first 9 years in Edmonton was incredible. His 50th goal in 39 games was iconic. Connor is now the reward for kicking McTavish and Lowe to the curb to close the decade of despair. This is what we have been watching most nights with MR. McD. Win or not Edmonton is the winner. We get to watch him again next year.
