I was culture shock the day I learned some people have their newborn sleep in a whole separate room. Baby sleeps in our rooms where I'm from until they know how to call us and say what they need (2yo)

Same. I mean, I always kinda knew some people had their babies in a separate room but not how my family was raised at all. I always thought it must be a rich people thing I guess. We slept in bassinet in mom's room or in baby swing near mom while she's doing stuff around the house and so will my newborn. I think my anxiety would be too high with them in a while different room.

Just as an FYI for any expecting mums: Having baby sleep in an adult bed raises the risk of SIDS by 400%, DockATot are actually banned in Canada for this reason, and they now state the product is not to be used for sleeping.

Oh the postpartum sweats!!!! No one really talks about it but was one of the worst parts of recovery for sure!!!!! Dress in layers but looks like you are on top of that!

Love this!! New subbie ! I’m to afraid to use the doc a toc they aernt even deemed safe in Canada due to suffocation issues. Do u feel there is any issue!?

You don’t have to use a doc a tot there are other co sleepers that are deemed safe for sleep they have high sides with mesh instead of pillows. That’s what I used with my newborn. Then transferred her to a bassinet once she got too big for that. I hope this helps! Also keep in mind there are risks to pretty much any way a baby under six months sleeps. Just keep an eye on them and keep them close. You should be ok! Once your child can move their head on their own and roll around (usually around 6 months) that’s a good time to get them in a crib or pack and play so they have room to roll.
