Bee by Ellis Brooklyn Perfume Review

I was hoping this had more honey like a perfume version of Perlier Honey shower gel. This is very heavy on the vanilla on me and reminds me so much of the original Vanilla Fields from the nineties.

I was able to sample this yesterday at Sephora and it's delicious! Gourmands are my absolute favorite and this did not disappoint. Came across someone selling a new bottle on Mercari and purchased it before I even left Sephora lol.

Hi Hali, do you smell the chocolate/cocoa in it? I'm not a fan of that scent on me. I do love all the other aromas- the honey, the vanilla, the rum!!!! Mmmm... I honestly don't think i could handle a significant chocolate note. Thanks..

Hello! I've been eyeing this one! I've been looking for a honey heavy fragrance ever since I fell in love with my sample of Zoologist Bee. I saw you have a few Zoologist travel sizes and was wondering if you have every tried Bee. If so, how do they compare?

I can’t recall if I tried the zoologist bee, it may have been orange blossom heavy so I stayed away. Ellis Brooklyn Bee is a sweet gourmand. I can’t imagine it would be too similar with any of the zoologists, as all the zoologists I’ve sampled had more of a floral focus or were not too sweet. If you try both let me know your thoughts :)

oh yummy! I have Ellis Brooklyn Salt & love it for Summer especially this have been holding back on as I love honey but the Sandalwood in it (tired of some Sandalwoods and feel industry has overdone it). So thank you for your review I am going to pull the trigger on the BEE!

Hi, I love almost everything you said... I love honey (especially!), I love vanilla, the boozy aspect, but sadly, I don't like the smell of cocoa/chocolate. I love to eat it, but don't like to wear it. Is that a note you notice in the fragrance? I just so love all of the other notes.. :( Thanks, Wendy :)

Hi Wendy, there is some cocoa scent to this, in my view it's less than some of the other notes, but still there. Can you sample it at a Sephora first before buying?

I was able to sample Bee at Sephora.The opening was honey rum goodness. Dry down was VERY familiar to me. It was resin & incense with sweetness in the background. Elizabeth & James Nirvana Amethyst is what it reminded me of tobacco, honeysuckle & cedar are the notes. Amethyst I decided I'd like better as a candle scent lol. I'll revisit Bee bc I definitely enjoy the combo with the sweeter scent better.

That all sounds divine, Nikki. I have a question for you regarding Bee. Did you detect the cocoa/chocolate note? I love every note you've described and noticed you didn't mention that. So not a fan of cocoa in a fragrance. Thanks, Wendy. :)

@@wendigo1919 I didn't smell cacao or chocolate. I didn't realize that was one of the notes, had to look it up. As you know, that doesn't mean you won't detect cacao. Definitely sample it 1st 😊

Thanks for the review! I can actually get Sephora delivered to my house within 2 hours by Instacart, which is very dangerous. Just last night I was checking out Kayali Vanilla on Sephora’s website - a friend got it and I’ve seen nothing but good reviews.

@@CasuallyFragrant so I got it and I like it. It’s perfect for day to day. I definitely smell the honey it’s slightly powdery in me but not in a grandma way more in a youthful fresh way. It’s not loud which I like but it’s still noticeable. Not too sweet. Im a lash artist so making sure my work fragrance isn’t bothersome is important. I usually wear Beach Walk and get many compliments. This is a keeper.

I think any scent is really unisex and anyone can wear it. But if you want my personal opinion - Bee leans more feminine to me, and it's a scent my husband wouldn't wear himself. But don't let that stop you from trying it if you are interested in the notes.
