***** Well, some people may have gotten tired of disco, but personally, I wish disco would come back. The music of today makes me sick. I've not been to a night club in a long time, so I can't say what type of music they play, but I do know that gay people, such as myself, LOVED DISCO . And the Bee Gees made plenty of people get on the dance floor and dance. Today its all electronic stuff I think.

Real shame. My parents, especially my dad, were Bee Gees fans but this song never came up in the cassette/cd compilations they bought. The radios would only play the bigger 60s and 70s hits (I can't believe they ignored the 80s and 90s discography) but even those were so random, like, they would play Don't Forget to Remember but never Nights on Broadway. I only recently found this wonderful song (along with other wonderful, wonderful BGs songs) while rediscovering the group on YT. Now, I wish this was more popular in my country because I want to experience belting out to this song's chorus along with my classmates for fun (like when I played Stayin Alive, Massachusetts, and How Deep is Your Love). Even karaokes are missing out a lot of Bee Gees songs, and it really sucks for a young fan like me.

Very true. It was released in January 1976, just before disco exploded and since the Bee Gees have been associated with the disco genre, this song is one of their "forgotten" hits. If it had been released a few years later, I have no doubt that it would have been a number one hit.

Why is it that the falsetta doesn't come across as un natural? The Bee Gees pulled this off perfectly......men singing and sounding masculine and dynamic. Plus the over the top lush orchestration..helps..alot! This just soars....Kudos to all people involved. They don't make songs like this any more. I guess the era and timing was just right.

I’ve practiced for years to imitate them. They use their nose a lot when singing, making it easier to hit these high notes and producing a smoother voice timbre that you normally can’t get without the right technique. Plus their harmonies blend so well together that it sounds like one voice. Even knowing these things, the degree of perfection of the finished product is simply unbelievable, I never get tired of hearing this song.

I had a huge crush on Barry & his hair back in the 70s-80s, then on Andy when he came forth! Found my BeeGees greatest hits in the glove compartment yesterday, (10/7/2019) played it and fell in love with their music all over again. Here I am the following day putting the songs into my random faves playlist here. I won't forget them again. Larry Lujack, WLS radio dj from the 70s, you were wrong, man, for saying you hated them cuz they sound like mice. But you were funny as hell! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

When this song came out. I was 12 years old. I had an AM little radio. Yes, there was no Walkman, MP3 or iPhone. The radio had just one earbud. The radio stations played this song all day and all night.

Crazy, it’s April 2024, I just turned 61 this week. A couple days ago I was with a friend, and played this song. Remembering the feeling the song evokes. Now today, still haunted by this memory I come to KZbin to play again. I’m reading all of these comments from fellow 12 year olds of 1975. Wondering what the connection of us born in 1963 that is bringing us to comment about this song on the same thread. Should we start a club? Haha The many mysteries of life and love. 😎❤️🐰✨

There is something sublime about the vocal intro to this song - just captures you immediately and draws you in. Funny how the intro to "How deep is your love" does the exact same thing. Hear it?

I WAS 13 YEARS OLD WHEN THIS GIBB'S SONG WAS ON THE TOP OF THE PLAYLIST IN 1975. ONE OF THE BEST ROMANTIC SONG OF THE 30 YEARS OF GOOD MUSIC, THE PERIOD BETWEEN 1958 THROUGH 1988 OR 1991. AND OF COURSE ONE OF THE BEST OF THE 70'S. THANKS BROTHERS GIBB.

Of all the Bee Gees songs, this one gets NO LOVE from so many peeps - they are SAF! I've been on the Bee Gees since the 70s and outside of How Deep is your Love, this one is so beautiful and soothing to the soul. You have to listen 5 million times to truly begin to understand the value. And the part when they change the time signature in the Pre-Chorus (The Moment When I First Met You) - it gives me those goose bumps and pushes me through a time portal and I'm INSTANTLY transported back to being a cocky-eyed teen peering across the cafeteria at the most beautiful girl in MY world. At the end, when the 3-Part Harmony escalates (You know how easy it is Hurt Me), you realize that a REAL MAN expresses his vulnerabilities to ensure the divine connection with YOUR Goddess survives. A true gem of masterpiece and more importantly - one of the best and coldest Romantic, Intimate, and Honest LOVE Songs from the 70s....Well Done Bee Gees, we will forever treasure your artistic talent....
