I dunno about everyone else, but I always LOVED when Barry and Robin sung together, I don't mean then they harmonized (which obviously i love too), but when they each had their part in the song. It allowed you to not only enjoy each of their voices for it's own unique sound, but also how beautifully they led on from one another, and how lush and satisfying the end product was. I also think I love it because while they were singing any disagreements they had in the real world were pushed from their mind, and their deep connection simply as brothers with a shared passion for music come through. And don't even get me started on Robin's ad-libbing. GOD I loved when he ad-libbed to songs with his crazy unique (in a good way) voice. BTW, I mentioned these two in particular because of them both singing in this song (and because their problems with each other always saddened me). Obviously I also include and adore Maurice, but it's a shame he didn't have more of his own, unique singing parts in their songs, purely for him.

@@seeingautumn6651 - I prefer this version myself. Barry's voice is slower and less harsh. Robin's is less strained and softer. What I always find interesting is that Robin was 5'9" and Barry 5'11" but he towers over the twins by at least 6'' in most photos. Either he's wearing heels (@1:30), as I often noticed, or stands closer to the camera. Of course his pouffy hair accounts for a couple of inches too, LOL! Mo was 5'7" and Andy 5'6". When they do medleys in concert the height difference is barely noticeable between Barry and Robin.

This song proves that Robin was more than capable of screaming on pitch. IMO, if the BeeGees had the same management as the Rolling Stones, this would have been a single. RSO was a great match for Barry. Maybe less so for Robin.

Thank you so much for putting this video together and publishing this amazing song for us to enjoy. In my view, this is one of their very great achievements. The great Robin Gibb's vocal is astounding. His emotion is lacerating, as usual, but he seems to have been experimenting with different sounds - way higher register than he usually sang in, and the gruff sound is great. He was a great artist, with such creative vision that he deserved several lifetimes to get it all out.

I wouldn't use the word "alternate" here. Rather, it is the original version of the unreleased album "A Kick In The Had Is Worth Eight In The Pants" (as correctly described in the video description). That's what makes this version so valuable. As is well known, the song was later released again on the B-side of the single Mr. Natural and remixed. The old version was used as a basis. Barry's vocal part received a new alternative vocal while Robin's vocals were simply taken over from the old version. Furthermore, additional instruments (e.g. mellotron and electric guitar) and vocal parts were added. Then they increased the speed and the pitch. The “new” song was born.
