The talent of these brothers is just phenomenal. The question I ask myself over and over again is once you’ve accomplished all of this (and glad BG’s are finally getting the recognition they should have had all along.). But I digress. But once you have achieved all this where do you go from here? Sad that Barry is the only remaining don’t even want to think about the pain he’s been thru, but I digress yet again! I’ll try again, What do you do after all this? The lives you’ve touched with your talent, visible in all the videos, the positive response to not only what you do but who you are, the limelight, this is living large! Obviously happiness in a good marriage, special woman, family, and thru ALL still very humble... I would think that being on that stage has to always be a part of your life? I love watching the videos. So grateful for the archives. I loved these songs back in the 70s and EVEN MORE now! I would also have loved to have seen the trio when they were creating the songs. Anyway... Happy New Year all! 💜

At those first notes easily drawn in. Never be another like this again. Great memories. Bee Gees FOREVER!!
For those of you that weren't around in 1977, there was a very big backlash against the Bee Gees and other disco artists (in North America at least). Don't get me wrong, the Bee Gees were hugely popular, but there were many (mostly rockers and people with no rhythm or soul) who felt threatened by this sound. Glad to see that masterpieces like "Night Fever" have stood the test of time and people now realize how talented the Bee Gees really were.
@lakeeriesailor28526 жыл бұрын
that's one reason I'm not a big fan of 1980s music. I'm so glad that disco (often called "euro") returned in the 1990s though.
@SouthAmericanGirls6 жыл бұрын
I never knew about that "backlash". Typical from many rockers. They cannot kill the Bee Gees inmortality
@David-gv3wx6 жыл бұрын
@Jake: There weren't the same fragmented tastes of today's music. Rock music ruled - the airways, album sales, mega-concerts, everything. While some considered disco a fad, it was starting to take over mainstream pop culture. Rockers eschewed it for its lack of "musicianship" and saw it as utterly disposable pap. The term "disco sucks" was very much in the late 1970's lexicon. There's a good article on the anti-disco near-riot at Chicago's Comiskey Park in 1979 and prevailing sentiment then: aeon.co/ideas/the-night-when-straight-white-males-tried-to-kill-disco
@SouthAmericanGirls6 жыл бұрын
@@David-gv3wx many rockers are arrogant people. I find most rock ugly. That Freddie Mercury man, their big idol, is talented ok but was arrogant and kinda horrible. Now most rock is forgotten. For instance in any important reggaeton video in the comments you will always see a rocker that comes to insult us who like reaggaeton and to say that rock is the best and blah blah blah.
@SouthAmericanGirls6 жыл бұрын
@@j.d.miller4203 Yeah. They would call us sissy. This pattern is seen today in comments in reggaeton videos. But reggaeton guys get the most beautiful girls, the hotter girls while those rock promoting reggaeton bashing aggressors spend a lot of time wanking alone because they have some repressed homosexuality. And some rock promoters say that (extremely popular) reggaeton is sexist, or is a music for stupid people, some say that girls that dance reggaeton are whores and blah blah blah. But extremely popular reggaeton (especially popular in Colombia an neighborhoring countries) is esentially the music of those that fully enjoy their sexuality and typically every reggateon dance floor is packed with extremely beautiful, curvy, extremely hot women. Let them aggressor rockers wank alone to Che Guevara or Freddie Mercury or who knows
