I took a girl to this movie back in my day, and afterwards I said to her, "John Travolta is obviously now going to be a huge star", and she said, "Oh god, I hate him! He is just all that creepy macho stuff" (!!) And I said to her, "Honey, it's all just acting. It's all made up!" I swear she imprinted all that acting as if it was real !!! I thought to myself, "Holy shit, Travolta has set women on fire with this movie!" He did. He set the whole country on fire with it. What a terrific movie in so many ways.

My girl took me to this hard core dance club in the city a few weeks ago, and at one point, the floor cleared back to form an open area where any body could just get out there solo, and dance. The crowd was so hype and my girl pushed me out there. It was clearly a hip hop/b boy dancing club, and I was no hip hop dancer. So I did this entire dance routine. It was exhilarating, and when I was done, everyone beat the shit out of me.

My first full-time job was file clerk in an engineering firm. It was 1978, and disco and clubbing ruled. One of the guys in sales styled himself after John Travolta in SNF; the polyester shirts and flared pants, the hair combed back like a mane, etc. He was HOT. 🔥When I first laid eyes on him at the copy machine he literally took my breath away. Unfortunately, he was also a Lothario, and there were a few young women at the office who were taken in. Funnily enough, he and I had a good rapport, I think because I always called him on his crap. He was impressed that I never fell for his pickup lines. I know a lot of people think disco is lightweight music, but man, it was fun to "boogie-oogie-oogie 'til you just can't boogie no more"! Pete P., wherever you are, I hope you're doing well.

I am 71,big fan of rock and roll, when disco music came out people who were in to rock music did not so interested, but now when I look back I think DISCO music much better than what we have today's rap music ....

Same here. Remember my younger sister and I going to movies twice to see this. I was 25 at the time. I always say we had to be young and fit back in the day, in order to dance, because the records were so long 😂...miss those days!!

You haven't seen me dance...I was so good... I was asked to become a dance instructor at Fred Astaire's dance studio...then I became a Chippendale dancer...over the years... I've slept with more than 5,000 women...I can't count how many times I was told afterwards that they wanted to see if I could F like I could dance... having a 10" white snake in my pants didn't hurt any...now I'm 63...I sure miss the days, when I walked into the clubs, and the girls would scream... It's Danny Dancer...with a trained partner...I was even better... Eve was on Denny Terrio's Dance Fever TV show...came in second... didn't know that you got more points for designing your own costume...I just wore a white polyester suit and black silk shirt and black capezio shoes...my partner wore a black dress and white heels...there were some Oohs and Aahs when I lifted her one handed over my head and spinned her like a top.

@@drachireidnoc6659 it's not about how anyone is else compares to Travolta whether it's this routine or something different!! Many have tried to out due him . But it's the swave and the poise & confidence in my opinion. Hence the New Capital one Xmas commercial 🤷

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. When it came out on December 16th, 1977, I was 11 yrs old. My mom got me disco lessons. She bought me these pink hot pants and I wore them to the classes. It was so fun to learn some of these moves for me. I remember it was out in the boonies somewhere, not sure where, but it was in the evening when I went. Lol, I loved those pink pants. Wish I had kept them now. 😂 John Travolta has made many awesome movies in his career. Grease was another all time favorite too.

Amazing movie, Amazing scene. John Travolta is the UNDENIABLE SYMBOL of the 70's Disco Music.
@joycestempa5647 Жыл бұрын
The last scene is gut wrenching and makes me cry even to this day just like it did when I saw it for the first time in theaters when it was released in ‘77. Several scenes throughout the movie are hard to watch due to their pin point accuracy, depicting how things were in real life then. Goes to show that movies nowadays don’t need the excessive violence, nudity and foul language to make a lasting impact on an audience!!!
