There's a good reason for that, lol. Being anxious around bees can lead to sudden and erratic movements, which may provoke stings.

After being stung a couple dozen times, you naturally calm down because you notice the slower you move, the more calm the hive responds. It still causes you to be anxious but in the moment the zen mode sort of just takes over

Nah actually if a bee comes home after drinking fermented pollen and nectar and show signs of being drunk they immediately rip that bees wings off and yeet them out of the hive because a single bee with fermented pollen with alcohol in its system will ruin the batch of honey so they are kind to the extent it furthers the hive. Sometimes in late spring flowers will be out for so long the sugars in them ferment and turn into booze at a small scale. I’m just tired of people calling Mother Nature anything other than a cruel bitch the cycle of life is continuous violence at epic proportions just look at the shit that goes down in the Amazon you sting stab bite or flee your way out of every situation there in a way it’s beautiful yes but it sure as shit ain’t kind. The only reason we can think differently about it is because we are apex species with homes and ac and burning more energy in fossil fuels and resource control than any species in earths history for all we know to our own detriment to live outside of Mother Nature. I can respect Mother Nature but having lived in Alaska and being an avid hunter she is in fact a cruel bitch that ain’t kind to lots of species.

Bees use honey as a long term storage system and mix it with water to rehydrate it for consumption. The coolest is the fact they know exactly how much they need to dehydrate the resources in order to safely store it - 17% moisture content - and flap their wings to circulate air to make this happen. SOOOO COOL!

I have a lot of respect for bee keepers worldwide. They always seem to all be very intelligent and caring people. You guys rule.
@TheMV1992Ай бұрын
Not all of them are respectful of bee lives unfortunately. Saw a documentary last year where economic decision-making of the beekeeper knowingly killed a lot of bees, not sure I can find it back. An example is almond orchards in California needing to be pollinated. Owners pay beekeepers a very handsome amount of money for it, but a large percentage of the bees (about a third if memory serves right) die from pesticide exposure...
