Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

First and foremost, YEAH! Bee's on her way home. She and her beautiful smile have been greatly missed. Maybe use the old scaffolding (after a clean-up and perhaps painting) as garden trellises, or joined together as the skeleton for fencing, and maybe make it into the "walls" of a structure, covered by a large tarp, to park your vehicles under.

I am so happy that both of you will be together for Christmas! I know I rested and healed so much better when I was home, where I could go for long walks and rest after my complete hysterectomy. Regarding the steel, hide it. It may seem cool now, but at the end of the day, tourists will want an authentic original look. As well, easier to hide it now than change your mind down the road. Whatever you decide I know you’ll do a wonderful job. Welcome home to Bea!

Oh my goodness! Bee looks marvelous - and as happy to see you as you are to see hr! Lovely. Theo, that sounds big enough to be a family home - if you rent to families with kids make sure they know not to mess with the animals. Some children would be lovely but others are just not raised to be kind. I love the idea of the upstairs patio and views in all directions. If they'll be long term, perhaps a little garden space for their own use. Whatever you do, it will be lovely. Would the old scaffolding work for fencing for the animals?? Maybe there is a portion that could be designed now, but built later, after the main project is completed? I would turn the bigger barn into the living room and dining room. The smaller barn could be the kitchen and the rest of the house can be rooms. I also love the idea of having a rooftop patio, it would be so lovely. Also you can do an outdoor patio on the back of the house. You can reuse all the stones to build the fence and the outdoor seating. It's nice to have Bee back, she looks gorgeous.
