Hi Brianna, I am a subscriber to your channel, so I immediately came over when Chuck mentioned on his video that you were posting a new one. What a surprise, I never expected a bee video but I was fascinated to watch you capture the swarm. Hope they stay with you, and yes, I would be interested in the updates that you mentioned at the end of the video. Where can I find them? And of course, best of luck with the hive!

That was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. I’ve been afraid of swarms since I got a super personal flyover once with my baby niece in a stroller & I got stung even though I got low down to the ground & covered her. I don’t know why they were moving, but I was the only thing in a vast expanse of a field & they swarmed above me. I’ll never forget that sound. Amazing how loud it can be. You are so brave! I stand in awe!!! I’m from just down here in Oregon, on a farm where we now have to truck the bees in at night from California because there aren’t enough bees anymore to pollinate the berries. Blueberry & blackberry farm. Love from the farm! ♥️ Jess

Brianna, Thanks for sharing your bee swarm with us. Phew! You’re so brave! I’d have a heart attack for sure, being so close to it. I wonder if you have any ground-dwelling bees in the northwest? We had one a few years back at our old house. They were disturbed when my husband accidentally mowed the lawn right over the top of the opening to their hive. They swarmed out and started stinging him all over. When he came in the house, we stripped him down and pulled off the rest of the bees, he collapsed three times, heart stopped three times. I had to revive him while simultaneously on the phone to paramedics. They came PDQ and gave him a shot of anti-anaphylactic shock meds, and all was well soon after. I had never heard of bees living in the ground before, and the local bee keeper in our town didn’t know much about them, so that’s why I wondered if you had them out your way.

I started following your channel after watching Chucks skoolie videos and spotting beehives in the background! You're doing a great job, both on the bus side as on the bee side.. And especially with the bees, we never stop learning! I live in Belgium but it seems like your hives ressemble mines, are there 11 frames in a box? Which species of bees do you work with? Unfortunately, none of my 4 boxes (or hives, what is the right name?) survived winter 💔 all were strong and healthy, yet at the end of december, the boxes were suddenly empty.. No explanation, but this past winter 1 in 10 beekeepers over here lost all of their hives.. Not much to do than start over again, but it's really sad when you love your bees! Keep up the good work! 🐝🐝

Thanks for checking my channel out! Thank you! I use 10 frame boxes.. they come in a size that holds 8 too, 11 would be heavy! How cold does it get there? I think its harder the colder it is, here it seems like if i treat for mites (i have landed on the oxalic acid sponge method) and leave them enough food, they make it. Or if they are my mean bees that i dont want to over winter.. they survive regardless lol These are carnolians, my mean ones are “ankle biters”

We use 11 frame boxes, so it's more or less the same. It doesn't get cold here at all, in total maybe a few weeks of mild frost, and all of them were treated multiple times against Varroa and had plenty of food.. Maybe it's because of some kind of pesticide, but we can't be sure since all bees are gone.. We hold the same type of bees, I didn't knew that type was used in the US! We call them 'Carnica', but carnolians sounds better🤩

There is nothing like the energy of a swarm, it's simply amazing,😁Glad you got to experience it. Good spot for ya, at least it was close to the ground. Swarms generally are pretty nice bees, very rarely are they stingy. How long have you kept bees? Looks like you have a Wonderful time, Blessed Days...

Im 5 mins in are you sure you dont want to run àway to land in Texas (unseen by me but I'm heir to) and live off the land? I should note I live in a 57 pd4104 but own 2002 international which currently houses the rest of my owned possessions. Traveling with me to Texas where 17 acres a spring fed lake named after me awaits my creation or destruction depending whom you might ask!
