WPVI Stuff, January 1985 (with Million Dollar Movie Open)

I used to stay up to watch The Million Dollar Movie and all those PSAs. WPVI was my favorite Philly station.

One of the last airings of this 1979 opening and closing sequence before the switch to the running man music and the movie clips sequence with the big 6 logo on top of the screen. Part of channel 6 movie umbrella titles makeover all of channel 6s movie umbrella titles underwent the change in jan feb 1985.

@@MisterB2eternity my recollection of that opening is a camera spinning around then the channel six logo rapidly coming to the forefront of the screen and flashing and then the million dollar movie logo appearing in the middle while another logo was spinning slowly in the foreground and the camera slowly spinning around The music was from Dave grusin and the movie winning the opening theme of that movie Than ran from 1971 to 1979 followed by this updated sequence as you see here followed in early 1985 by the running man theme which ran till 1997

2:36 AM Philadelphia was the top local talk show at the time. The theme song was an instrumental version of "We're All Alone" originally by Boz Skaggs and Rita Coolige.

I saw the intro to the MDM used on WABC for their weekend afternoon movies in the 80s, and I saw a clip from WEWS in Cleveland using the same intro!
