Outer Tubes in Beecroft Peninsula is a world famous spot for game fishing. The area is known for pelagic fish like marlin, tuna, snapper and king fish which all can be caught from the rocks. On our hike here we spoke with one of the fishermen who gave us a little run down of the area. The hike down was easy but then became a steep decent down with uneven paths and surfaces. Along the way we discovered a lookout which had amazing views and then made our way down the the Outer Tubes. The scenery here was amazing and the water is crystal clear something I have not seen before. This area is great for scenic shots, a general hike or what its famous for fishing. We also checked out the lighthouse which was only a short stroll from the car park. This lighthouse was built in 1898 and I think its one of the best looking lighthouses I have seen in the east coast with its grand size and design.

Brought back memories of a UFO incident I witness with many other people one night back in about 1974. Saw what looked like a meteorite arrive and stopped instantly before lowering slowly to the waters surface. It was about 300 meters from the right hand headland. It became a slow pulsating light that lit up the whole bay clearly yet strong as the light was, it was a white light and caused no reaction to the eye, like you didn’t squint as an eg. A launch was sent from HMAS Cresswell and 2 jets came over from HMAS Albatross. The whole show lasted about 20 minutes yet there was nothing in the papers or on TV. I was the Pilots Cook from Albatross and had the night off as there were no night time exercises. I made some enquiries and was told by one Officer not to talk about it. Always stuck in my head. Seeing this walk brought the whole thing back clear as day. Makes you wonder where they hide this technology. Thanks for the memories

I remember fishing at the tubes when I was a kid 30+ yrs ago and we witnessed a guy hooking onto a marlin but lost it. We also hooked onto a giant squid about 1.2 metres long. We took a piece of tentacle out of it and sent it out and caught a yellow fin tuna about 25kgs and also a 15kg kingfish. I still have pictures of it the fish was longer than me.

WOW 🤩 must definitely be the place to catch to big ones but I guess you’d still have to know how to fish 😂
