i once had a similar situation as kirby where i used inhale to eat my partner, dodge the attack meant to punish the shield break thanks to invincibility frames, then killed them by spitting my heavy partner out

For clarification on my Mac combo’s, the backwards hit of Mac nair (shitbox) has actual knockback which allows the combo’s to be true on certain characters with slow air dodges or options that aren’t fast enough

But I don't want to be to negative and if this game end up being as good as it seems and be the modern successor to melee that would already be great. I don't think we should let or love for melee mold this game to be what it is not... But still just one djc character pleeeaaasee!

@@prophetedubaroque5136 There is a popular DJC character in Rivals 1, Absa! Think like an unholy Zelda/Pikachu/Mewtwo hybrid with DJC shenanigans. She's not gonna be in the game on launch, but she was one of the original 8 characters in ROA so fans think she'll be one of the first post-launch characters.

Not very applicable im afraid :/ no point in going for it intentionally since the i-frames are a blip. Best to just roll with it if it happens but dont prioritize a 1/100 scenario

15:06 the reason this works is because when a fighter ejected form kirby's mouth, they are going fast enough to have a cannonball effect. However this is very situational, and usually only works in 3-4 player matches.

I would love user submitted clips again, even if it’s a small section I know you don’t get many and I know the majority sucks… but it is the heart of smash review lol Also the reason I bring it up is because one of these clips was on a much older episode (Kirby DDD gordo) And another was already showcased on an older episode (the picking up a flower glitch. Shulk did it at hyrule castle, early pre 75 episode video) Another idea would be Chris finding Twitter clips for one episode or something

the thing i don't know if i like about rivals is that all the characters look like "melee fox" derivative. maybe its just me, but they basically all have the same exact "rushdown" style game plan that is known for being a fox motif. it looks really repetitive. smash as a game has a lot more character gameplan style. zoners, rushdowns, poke characters, grapplers, low damage combo heavy characters, Heavy one hitter combo characters. Rivals seems to have literally none of it. everyone is just a modified melee fox and some of them have a cargo throw while others have tornados. i wanna like rivals, but that lack of diversity is what ruins it for me. i kind of think that's why it doesn't get picked up by the wider gaming market and continues to feel like a melee passion project.

The unenlightened seem to think that variety in the form of campier playstyles is STRICTLY a bad thing, without realizing that smash wouldn’t even be half as enjoyable if everyone had the same hitboxes with no projectiles or range.
