Why did you leave the frames spaced apart. The frames are designed to be pushed together that's why it's tapered at the bottom.
@AnnaKra5 жыл бұрын
We didn't, we fixed it before we closed it. We were actually still checking the hive. We just shortened the video so that we're not wasting viewers time. You know, like cutting out the boring parts. lol. But you're right that is a must before closing the hive. Thank you for watching!

Just 1 thing. Check the lit for the queen bee before you put it on the ground. When open box you can use more smoke. Dont just put frame in, wiggel it a bit so the bees can move out the way. If you find the queen, it would be best to mark her.
@privatebubba88765 жыл бұрын
You mean the inner cover, the bees can't get to the lid.
@lourensklopper42175 жыл бұрын
Yes. The inner cover is closed off. So please check it for the queen before you put it on the ground. Normaly you would not find her there, but I have seen some videos where the queen is on the inner cover or the lit.

Yes, if owner see 1-3 days egg, queen is in hive, and doing her job good, but for beginer looking for egg its harder then find queen, if her vision not enough good, like mine, I better see fresh eggs, if I turn to light (to sun) and look from closer or must bring herself battery light, but queen I can easier find in shadow and look it from far (keep frame in straight arms), I try it search in sunlight bees wings make reflection, impossible for me, its looks like keep mirror in my hand

And Natasha must recognize queens moving, mated queen go slowly, she watching to cells, her leg put to wide, she need space for walking, if watching to frame from far looking allways to abnormal moves, workerbees moving faster, but if in hive is not mated queen she run like race horse😊, she dont know what to do

You two did good. When you pull your first frame out you don't shake the bees back in the box . Turn your back to the sun so you can use it to see in the cells to look for eggs and larva. Its easyer to find the queen if you hold the frames at a 45 degree from your body. To much smoke will run the queen off the frames. Nice Job.😁

Its for me sometimes hard to find not signed queen, even I doing 16 year ☺, she must learn paint queen, best practicing on drone, not sting, and if die during painting no problem, or stick number marking. She bought from your dad this hive or colony?

@@AnnaKra I have one 3,5 yo queen is painted, nice breeding, bees pulling queen cell, probably they want exchange it, she will not swarm, because she have just one wing (i dont torn it, maybe bees, or just be age), in spring had two weak family, I decide put together, I let both queen, 2 queens laying eggs together, lather I found just old one, young one was 1yo, and they choce older, it true havent practicing with paint probably kill it, maybe not paint, kill when releasing back to colony, bees not recognize our queen, but exist varios practice what will remove paint smell from queen, I take cage to my hand, I put to my mouth I breath slowly, make warm temperature dry paint, remove aceton smell from queen, some beekeeper just spit to queen, bees will clean down, they not smell aceton

@@AnnaKra Ya there are so many new hybrid queens now that are "Varroa Hygiene Sensitive,' which means that the bees can smell when Varroa are attempting to multiply which happens inside a capped brood cell. So they uncap it, and pull the pupa out and take it our of the hive. This is how this new hybrid is controlling varroa mites

She will watch this video by the end of the summer and laugh at herself. If she's in her hives every 3 to 4 days, she'll get a pattern and get used to being stung. Then she'll bee a beekeeper for sure. She''l probably shed the jacket. The vail is always the last to go. LOL. It comes in handy if the bees are a little tense for some reason.
