I like how you point out the waggle dances being done by the girls. I recently read a few of Dr. Thomas Seeley's books and I learned SO much about honey bee behavior! In his book Honey Bee Democracy, he really breaks down the waggle dance. Bees are so incredibly fascinating!

Tell me why you do not use a feeder. I installed 2 nuc's on June 12, 2023 and I also added a feeder. Right, wrong, personal choice?

Do you mix plastic foundation and wax or do you have a preference?

Hey David, you just pulled out a shallow frame where they extended the wax and cells below it. I had this idea of adding a large shem to the bottom of my brood box to give them extra room to add that wax. do you see that as I good idea?

Take the best guess at what year the queen was born and color her for that year’s color.

You can cull out drone comb for mite control or in my case I just have it available. Many people in Maryland told me they enjoy using all medium frames in medium boxes. I kinda like that idea.
