Mine makes a Screeeeech sound every week or so. Not the Beep beep or some short sound but a screeech. Any idea? Cant find anything online and am about to hoof the 7 units and live without anything since all they do is wake people up that have a job.

If it ever beeps like this, replace it! Smoke alarms should be replaced every 8 to 10 years, and CO alarms should be replaced every 5 to 7 years.

I purchased 2 of the ten year kiddie fire and carbon detectors. The first one started going off for no reason “fire fire fire” after about 6 months the second started doing the same after a few days. Just garbage.

Yep. It is older then 7 years. Go to home Depot and get a new one. That one you have is older then 7 years. They make it beep when it reaches 7 years old so you will throw it in the trash can. See? Easy solution.

Means you have owned it 7 years. The unit is telling you that it has expired after 7 years. Take it to recycle and get a NEW one.
