Being from North America, coming into Autumn just fairly soon, thinking this might be a good idea to try to have on hand for all the Oktoberfest celebrations coming up soon! Thanks for the inspirations and other ideas on working through..complete teetotaler myself, so need all the help I can GET!😁😎

@@highstandards6226 these would do really well for Oktoberfest 😊 one of the other comments recommend using non alcoholic beer too which saves boiling it

My son and husband regularly make their own beer plus I worked and retired from a brewery (36 yrs)and my husband the same (40yrs). To say we enjoy making and using beer soap is to put it lightly! Our favorite is Oatmeal Stout ! I do enjoy experimenting with all the different beers. Beer has wonderful properties to add to soap, great for the skin and barley water (or malt mash water) is a good astringent. I can't wait to see your next video. Excited for the weekend ☺

P.S. You might take a look at Jen's video (A&N Suds and Such). Her last 2 videos, from 2 years ago, on making beer soap is very very interesting! She doesn't boil or freeze her beer. I have started doing it that way (except for the hard oil and lye way, because I do room temp) since watching her and have been doing it that way ever since. Many family members have told me not using full beer for lye is a better bar of soap and therefore not too strong or stinky, as one put it 😉 kzbin.info/www/bejne/enSppad5ltWgrMk

That would be wonderful to use your own beer in soap. Makes it a right family affair 😊

As a method of saving time and energy, I have used N/A versions of the beer I want in the soap. Since I don't need to remove the alcohol, I just freeze it in an ice cube tray to remove carbonation and use directly as a water substitute for my lye solution....works well when I want to soap at lower temperatures.
@SoyandShea
@SoyandShea 5 жыл бұрын
Do you mean no alcohol beer? Those are relatively new around here so harder to find at reasonable prices. It's a great idea though
@Aeolus737
@Aeolus737 5 жыл бұрын
I'm actually in Kuwait so non-alcoholic beer is the only thing I can get (legally)...but I figured it would work better overall rather than abusing real beer😉

@soyandshea Another great behind the scenes video. A lot of people don't realise the thought and preparation that goes into making a soap. I had to laugh as you discussed your coconut oil being partially melted. Living in Canberra, heat is not something that I get until the middle of summer. It's only 16 today and still having 0-3 degrees overnight. My coconut oil never gets to a liquid state unless I melt it, so I am so envious. Can't wait for the weekend to see the making of this soap, have been wanting to try beer and have been doing some research, so really looking forward to see you make a soap with it.

Thank you ❤ having liquid coconut oil is not always good. When I first bought a box that had a bag and tap, it was winter so I cut the bag open. I was almost to the end when it started to get warmer and I walked in my shed and found coconut oil all over my bench and floor. 😔 I've learned my lesson now and don't cut the bags or buy the metal pails

Oh gosh yes! You have terrible fires up there atm,I saw on the news again tonight how bad it is :( I hope it’s not near you guys?? It’s so so scary and unpredictable. We had really bad fires down here in tassie last summer-lots of towns were evacuated :( I hope all is ok and they get these terrible fires under control ASAP xx

@@lyndalhildebrand7261 they're probably between 1 & 2 hour drive away. It's so devastating to see. This week we had a mix of smoke from the fires and a dust storm from out west blow in. The mess in the house was awful but at least we still have a home 😔
