Beer Engine Hand Pull Pump Refurb In Garden Pub Shed - FAIL ! Part 1. How To..

Well, I tried to replace the seals and a few parts in one of my beer engines, (hand pull pump), but turned out I couldn't find the seal kit I bought and then I went and broke the bloody top of the cylinder! Bloody comical! Have decided I may buy a complete new cylinder anyway, as one pump will be for display only, and the other I use, the cylinder Is leaking slightly, so that could probably do with a new cylinder.

Update. Thanks to subscriber 'mobileupload' pointing me in the right direction I've discovered Harry Masons do sell the individual part I require. Really pleased, so ordering that and a seal kit now. Look out for the repair video coming soon!

Gutted. Bloody difficult filming and repairing at same time. I'm buying the whole new cylinder, 1/4 pint, no cooling jacket. 75 including delivery i think. All new ready to go. Will work a treat. Enjoy ya beers, cheers.

Another Good Video John, shame you had a mishap with one of the bits, it must be quite fiddly to refit all the bits back in so it all lines up, but at least we have an understanding of how they work now, Cheers Buddy, keep the videos coming. :-) Andy

Yes. More awkward trying to film at same time to be honest. Decided I'm going to buy a brand new cylinder from Harry Masons. 1/4 pint with no cooling jacket is cheapest. Will be clean, new, new seals, loads lovely sucking pressure. Nice and new ready for summer. I'll move the cylinders from one pump to the other and have a few spares. I only ever have one pump and beer in bag working anyway. Thanks for the comments. Cheers.

Hi great video lots of information thank you my question I have a check valve on my setup but my tap is constantly dripping so not sure if the cylinder and needing new seals or if it’s something else the thing is I’m am to pull sanitiser through it so the suction works. thanks any suggestions

Sounds like cylinder needs new o rings. Need to strip pump and refurb it I reckon. Cheers.
