Good Job , Mate! I have been brewing off and on for 50 years, I ecently moved into pressure brewing . But I think you have a unique brewing style. I will give it a go! All the best from Wagga Wagga, NSW. Australia. Ron

Thank you Joe for showing me that it is possible to brew beer on a larger scale and don't need the expensive equipment to do it. I enjoyed both beer videos and hope you continue to make more. I like your laid back style and your commentary along the way. Don't change!! Look forward to more beer making videos in the future. Thanks Joe.

Hey Joe, great video on beer making, and i love the heavy breathing effect, you sound like what we call in England "a piss head" which translated is "a man who loves beer too much" thanks and keep up the good work.

I haven't made beer for a decade. I needed some refreshing plus wanted to see how someone else brews. This was an excellent education on how to brew on a shoestring budget. Plus in the past the several brews I did were using malt extracts. In the end I had some fun and drank some nice brew I actually made...but, it wasn't cheap and actually cost about the same excluding the labor and time. This is why after going through several cycles the novelty wore off and I went back to purchasing my brew again. With this method you can actually make what promises to be premium craft beer at less than half the cost not counting the equipment. The equipment here probably cost between $100 and $150 so if you commit to being a semi-regular brewer you'll make back that cost in around your first 3 to 5 batches. After that you are saving money and drinking the beer you tweaked to personal preferences not to mention being able to also concoct specialty editions. Anyone like myself who has interest in this should watch Joe's two videos as I doubt you can make quality brew cheaper or streamline the process to be more simple (unless you do extracts which will defeat most of the cost savings). Excellent tutorial with some homespun humorous comments. Very educational and entertaining overall! Truly excellent.

Thanks for the good words man! I'm not a pro beer brewer. I just wanted to save some people money on getting into brewing to not make it so intimidating for someone tying to get into brewing. For me it was hard to start because everyone made it sound so complicated.

Really appreciate these two videos. I just got hired as an assistant brewer at my local brewery and after a few days of working there I feel I need to start brewing at home. I just bought a house and don't have a lot of play money in my budget. Maybe in a year or two I wont have to blink at spending 2k on a nice setup but until then, I'm going to use this method.

@batmanipa113 жыл бұрын
I love how your videos contradict every other how-to video I watched on brewing. But the end result looks great, I'm pretty sure the beer is pretty weak since you didn't let it sit and ferment as long as you should but I bet it tastes great and enjoyable. This makes me want to finally try my hand in brewing. I hope you make a video showing us the ABV in the beer you brew some day.

Glass or plastic carboy? What kind of fridge? What do you think your alcohol content is?
@DirtyolJoe7 жыл бұрын
plastic, wine fridge , 8%.
@DrLove9114 жыл бұрын
It's probably around 8% . Most yeast only last that long . With some restart yeast or just another type of yeast you can get a little more but it's not worth it really
@josephmolion4345 Жыл бұрын
pretty impressive you got 8% out of that! Your approach, a dash of this, a couple of sprinkles of that, I don't think you even once took a gravity reading on it! lol... Very cool videos, and now I know how to keg up my stuff! Cheers brother!@@DirtyolJoe
@genescott60534 жыл бұрын
couln't you put the beer in a keg or bottle, while the yeast is doing it's thing and it would carbonate the beer and pressurize it for you?
@DirtyolJoe4 жыл бұрын
It would explode. It is too much at the time of fermentation . You put a little sugar in your beer at the time of bottle to use up the rest of the yeast for carbonation.
@genescott60534 жыл бұрын
@@DirtyolJoe can we prove this on film? I have a theory it would just "force carbonate"...do you have first hand knowledge? ..lets do a video....day 3, pour into a real "keg' ...set a "pressure guage with a cam on it ....I think the first episode of "BEER MYTH BUSTERS" is born...my $.02
