I used to go here when it was an old IMPS show... we'd have about 50 vehicles. Saw it grow to what it ended up before it moved to Folkestone for a bit (never went there though). I spent about 15yrs with this being my main summer holiday... Some years I was 1st to arrive and last to leave... Oh the fun!!! Twice won a 1st prize for various things...and once appeared on the posters that appeared on all the advertising. I recall that you could get a full set of 1944 dated 'Dough Boy' webbing for a fiver in the bargain bins at the end of the show... and then Saving Private Ryan came out and the next year you had to struggle to find an incomplete set for less than £75!!! As with all things it got too big, money and greed got involved and it lost its way. Having said that I was offered £500 and a shag by a gorgeous woman for my old tricycle!!... So it weren't all bad! :P

Those poor firearms will live on in my and every other gun-nut's hearts. If you ever find yourself in the United states, take a side-trip to Colorado. The Dragon-Man's house in Colorado Springs is a rather fun visit. It's a rather large military-history museum focused on weaponry. And the best part is that every single weapon inside is fully functional. Plus you can rent a large variety of of firearms to mess around with on their range (Definitely more than just a .22 LR), including a rather large assortment of fully automatic weapons. The Tanner gun-show is a fun little expo as well. (Plus there are a few nicely abandoned locations to find in CO if you know where to look.) *I swear I'm not paid by the Colorado Board of Tourism or National Rifle Association.

Recommend going it's worth it it's amazing for the family to enjoy as much as you do they bring it Straight back to life a living history. Biggest show IN THE WORLD over 200,0000,00000 reanacters that is a lot over 2222 different stalls omg

Great video. Real shame about the Gun Laws and ownwership there in the UK. I'm fortunate to live here in the USA and I was raised with firearms and I own many of them. Also became a Gunsmith as I enjoy working on them also. If it goes Bang, I like it. Nice to see that you actually have some knowledge concerning firearms compared to most people in the UK that I have seen. Anyway, keep up the great video's as I really enjoy them.

BUT All Deactivated! No Fun in the sun. But you can fix barrels & Remove the lead not that hard. I used to make quite a lot O Shit for or Military . NEVER WELL MOST TIMES USE SIGHT'S I Was taught by my Gramp LA PD 27yrs shoot it like shooting a rubber band off finger or just off barrel you will NEVER MISS A BAD GUY BECAUSE YOUR SIGHTS CAME LOSE/YOU DROPPED IT! REALLY EASY. BEEN SHOOTING TOYS SINCE 8YRS OLD!

Honestly if you tried to strip one of these down so you could see the extent of the damage done you would agree that it’s a write-off. May as well just be a solid gun shaped piece of metal. You would be better off making an improvised shotgun with a couple of poles with a cap and pin in the end than trying to get a "UK deactivation" running again.

Gun clubs are the most common reason for people to have a license. Also farmers and pest control guys.

how do they de active a rifle with weld ?? do they weld the bolt to the barrel ?

So it varies from model to model but typically they weld a metal rod down the barrel, mill out a chunk of the breach, weld the bolt to the upper receiver, weld up the trigger group and remove the firing pin. Essentially a solid gun shaped bit of metal at the end of it.

Was great fun. 100% recommended if you're in Kent next year. Good ole Hickock :-D Demolition Ranch is good for a laugh as well 👍 As for beer and ammo, yes you are correct. The (current) average black market price of pistol cartridges in the UK is about 50p more than your average pint. Who knows the price of rifle ammo?! Must be double i would think.
