Beer Line Overview

This is a quick overview of my Milwaukee Road Beer Line in HO scale. Pardon the window glare and my stumbling through the description. I will be posting additional videos about structures, Rolling stock, other modeling projects, and operations.

Great looking layout! I lived along the Milwaukee Road Chehalis, WA sub on the far west end of the system from about 1974 until the Embargo of Lines West. I hope to model several scenes of that area one day. Weyerhauser bought the track from Tacoma to Chehalis and the line that branched off to Morton, WA after the Embargo. They ran log trains until 1992, so there's many modelling opportunities. One thing you may like to know, there's a little company called Lines West Products that makes those authentic Woodworth switch stands with chevron targets thek Milwaukee used on their system. They aren't too badly priced, either and they're produced in many different scales.

A very nice layout. You have some excellent detail and great looking scenes. I like the realistic looking industrial track with slewed ties and lack of ballast ............ great job!! I'm impressed with your passion and efforts to capture the feel and flavor of the beer district in Milwaukee and it looks to me like you've done it very well. Very nice structures Is the spent grain silo rail served or do you model as truck to nearby farms ?

Thanks! Right now the silos are more for establishing the prototype. I’ve thought about adding onto them and adding another track so that I could model the spent grain operations. But fitting a spur in is a little bit of a challenge.
