Let's look at repairing Beer Money's stock 6.2 block. The starter pad and part of the bellhousing have broken off and put us out of commission.

i was wondering why you went through all that to repair a "regular ol' 6.2 block" then i spy'd the 55mm roller cam bearings and sleeves with hoops.. now it makes sense, you got some tricky machine work in that block. you guys run 1/2" main studs to or is there not enough meat in the main saddles for that in a stock block?

Make sure you counter bore the top of the starter bolt hole so the knurled part of the starter bolt has a place to go. Not sure on the size but gm starter bolts have that weird part under the threads and it has to go in the block. Nice work Pete it’s fun watching some one who clearly knows what he’s doing. I love the theme music too.
