Hi Chelsea I have already started baking the layers for this cake and will be finishing it completely tomorrow for a birthday on Sunday so how do you recommend I store it tomorrow for one night. Does it go in the fridge and is it ok uncovered?

Hi Chelsea! I love how you designed this cake. I plan to do something similar next weekend. My question, have you ever experienced the top of the cake "foam" causing the sides of the cake to form a wrinkle affect due to the top being too heavy with buttercream?

The key is to use thick buttercream! My american buttercream is pretty stiff, and keeps its shape well! I also didn't pipe a ton on the sides, which may have also helped. Best of luck with your cake, I hope that helps!! 😊

Hi I'm making this cake for my other half 50th can you tell me what the quantity of butter cream needed (beer coloured) for the inside of cake and outside, thanks. Love this cake watched it so many times , well done you 😊

oh man, I made this cake a year and a half ago!! sadly i'm not sure of the exact amounts of buttercream i used! It also varies based on how much buttercream you add between you cake layers! I'd say I used about 3 cups between the layers, and the another 2 cups of white buttercream to make the foam! I probably used 2-3 cups of the beer colored buttercream on the sides! hope that helps

Hey, just curious, I want to add fresh blueberries to the cake. How would I go about doing that? Would I need to change anything in the recipe mix and I would also like to make the frosting lime flavored. Do I just add lime flavoring instead of the vanilla or do I add both vanilla and lime flavored? Thanks so much!!

I've never done that before! I would recommend just adding them between the layers, it's a super moist cake batter and I'd be worried the juice from the berries might throw off the consistency of the batter! to make lime buttercream you can just add in the zest and juice from a large lime! You can omit the vanilla extract!

these are 6 inch cake rounds! probably a good idea to use a dowel if you're traveling with it!

You can combine yellow, orange and brown, i did this for a 600gr of buttercream and i used 10 yellow drops, 2 brown and 4 orange

I only have fondant for the handle, how to I make it hard enough to make a handle? can I used flour or corn starch or maybe freeze it?

Just shape it, and let it sit out overnight, or for a couple hours! It will harden, and be easily added to the cake!

its for tomorrow and its still pretty flimsy (its been sitting on the fridge for almost 24hrs, it's very humid in SW Ontario Canada) I think i might set it in the oven on low for a few minutes. might have to break protocol and use baking clay LOL Thank you for replying. I knew I shouldn't of cheaped out and bought that powder :(

Hi another great video using your go to vanilla cake I email you about this vanilla cake but you don't seem to have seen it I wanted to use it for a 12" two layer square cake but needed your help i.e quantities for the ingredients measured in grams as your cups are smaller then our Irish cups I have tried some of your recipes but I must be getting the conversion wrong 😰

Brenda Russell i think with fondant but you can roll paper up and stick it on the cake but don’t eat it
