They must have kicked it up a notch because I just bought a 12 pack in North Carolina and it is marked at 9.2%. Ok it is marked as an 'Imperial' IPA. Winner winner chicken dinner!

Mine was 9.2 but agree a tad malty. Hard to get fresh beer anywhere.

It may not be Sierra Nevada's fault, it may be the distributor. Some distributors don't care about craft beer because it's not their "bread and butter" brands.

That is one of my favorite go to stovepipes. Sounds like you got a stale batch and blame the distributor for putting it on the shelves

Hey Greg, if you get a chance you should try some of Avery Brewing's "The Kaiser" imperial oktoberfest. Got a 6-pack from my local Spec's and really enjoyed it.

Traditional torpedo is one of my all-time favorite beers, great flavor, amazing body and mouth feel, heavy glass lacing, excellent head retention , great all around. Decided to try this atomic torpedo imperial because I saw it at the store and I really wish I didn’t buy it. I wish I would’ve gone with traditional torpedo. This atomic torpedo IPA is completely lacking in body and mouth feel and has zero glass lacing compared to torpedoes heavy lacing. The extra 2% of alcohol is nowhere near worth sacrificing great body mouth feel and glass lacing. Also, not a fan of the tropical notes. I will not buy this beer again and I recommend other people don’t buy it either. If you like torpedo stick with torpedo it’s so much better.

I have generally avoided this because I've only seen it when it was 4-6 months old, even though Sierra Nevada is known for shelf stability/life. However, I was able to find it at Total Wine yesterday at 1 month old. Its sad you have to wait that long for your beer, especially when Sierra Nevada has a facility in NC!

New England style is too gimmicky and hoppy in my opinion. Where are people going to go after that? You might as well just throw a shot of vodka in a glass of grapefruit juice cuz that’s all you taste

The c0 vid took my finer sense if smell so every beer I get I have the same moment "Yep, this beer smells and tastes like beer" I'm still happy though, personal goal to stay below 7% abv
