Being a pashtun from Quetta Balochistan, I agree with everything said regarding the pashtun culture, the Durandline history, but have been enlightened and chilled with the real history of two nation theory, especially the point where Jinahh wanted to go back and live in bombay after partition. Second, what is the need to denigrate Nehru? He was not perfect but he kept the country together. He was a socialist and slowed our country’s growth but he also made sure we had very solid institutions. He built the IITs, he cut down the army power because of which we have not had a coup, when every single neighbour of ours has had one. So, before you look at history, leave your preconceptions behind.

They were threatened by their neighbours and friends whom they considered family to leave the property and run to save there life and dignity. I am Malaysian Indian and a big fan of Pakistani Pathan. My interest on their culture and brotherhood started when one of my Pathan’s friend met with accident and I went and paid him a visit. Long story short I was amazed by their warm hospitality they showed me and the brotherhood they displayed among themselves. Yes I can see them vulnerable and insecure and mask their “ weakness “ by being unapproachable and “ rude “. The pain and the suffering they endure few decades continuously made them “aggressive and defensive”. I hope one day they will free from this pain and open up themselves to the world. Peace.

Very good podcast and interesting analysis. Being a Pakistani, I still think it was good perspective. One can disagree to some points but that doesn’t mean that analysis was wrong.

Some points made by him are factually incorrect. For example, at around 1:00, he states that curriculum in school shows Hindu or turban and calls out Jehad for letter. Is a made-up claim, and shows as obvious bias, which makes his rest of the research questionable. I’ve had the privilege of personally going through multiple small and big cities through my schooling years, which spanned across the Cambridge system, the federal system, and two state systems, none of those had any such curriculum. His assessment of history is a good perspective, when it comes to near recent history, or current affairs he reflects lack of real world experience and analysis.
