Ooo. .you make me emotional...cause I'm sarawakian(born in sarawak) and I left sarawak since 1989(im a sailor) and never been back to sarawak since than...cause I live in usa( sweetwater texas since 1991). I watch your vedeo learn how to cook sarawak food and it bring tears in my eyes....and I really missed my country. Good for both of you for this vedeo....and now I think I wanted to going back to sarawak...maybe this year. I do like both of you. Happy food traveling adventure.

Cantik and Ria, this is a very, very good video. The host articulated really well on the process and small nuances. I am impressed. I also love the shopping basket. I think I may get one of those as it also limits you from binge buying from the Jaya or Village Grocers in town.

Happy for both of you beautiful ladies learning to cook Sarawak dishes. The Bumbu Class master like to compare with village and city peoples. We cut the pineapple same way as he was cutting but he mentioned city people's cutting is different. One more thing, his cutting boards very dirty! Anyway his teaching is great 👍. Justina & Micha, both of you can show your cooking skills when both of you back to your home towns! Cheers To Freedom 😘.
@BeerForBreakfast6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Jenny!!!! His cutting boards weren't dirty, he's quite a hygienic person! It was just worn off from the amount of people that come to his cooking classes :)

Beer For Breakfast - Remove Stains with Coarse Salt or Baking Soda. Dry the plastic board completely and sprinkle it with a good bit of salt or baking soda. Scrub out the stain using a sponge or a brush dipped into hot water. Or can change to new plastic cutting boards 😉.

@BeerForBreakfast6 жыл бұрын
We thought so, we told that to our teacher Joseph but he's never heard about name Tepung Pelita. But it looked and tasted the same :) They call it TAKO here ☺
@AtokVlog6 жыл бұрын
There are different names for the same cuisine according to where it comes from. In Peninsular Malaysia we call it Tepung Pelita, In Sarawak they might call it Tako. Another example is the Pulut Bakar in Kuala Lumpur but up here in Kedah we call it Pulut Udang. BTW enjoy Malaysian food anywhere you travel in Malaysia. Name is just a small matter.
@pakdolan6 жыл бұрын
Cantik dan Ria (wink wink), you can find midin in the peninsular also, under the name of pucuk paku. Usually sold at the rural markets.
