You are amazing. You are so right about experiencing your down time emotionally and not trying to suppress them suppressing them just causes more internal strife, acknowledging them, and if you need to cry, cry if you need to yell yell, and then when the good times come relishing them and experience them and don’t suppress them because you’re feeling good. Love you.❤😊

Just remember - on good days and bad days - the Trail does not equivocate. It treats everyone the same and no one gets its favor without paying the price - the toll is the same for us all. Hope you're feeling better and be of good cheer; the end is in sight and almost within reach. Hope you get good weather in New Hampshire - the views are spectacular. Be well, stay safe.

1600 Whoot Woooo!!!! Congratulations!!! Welcome to Vermont. It will go quick and you will entering New Hampshire soon. Do not! I repeat, Do not miss the most amazing place to pig out on the whole AT!!! GO for breakfast at the Dartmouth College chow hall and stay all day! It's the best buffet on the entire trail!!!! As soon as you get to main street in town after walking past the river/border, don't turn right at the traffic light. Turn left and go behind the building with all the colorful chairs. Enjoy the Class of 53 Commons chow hall to it's fullest!!! You can camp behind the softball field after the grocery store. During the week you can take the free bus to Walmart and other places. Enjoy Dartmouth!!! It's the last large town on the rest of the trail.

Ack....poor thing. I feel for you. The frustration is borne from non-acceptance of what is. Your wants/needs being at variance with what is actually your present situation. The solution is simply to surrender to what is (warning.....things tend to take surprising turns when you do this. But at least you find peace). Buen Camino. Michael from Ireland

I know it’s tough, but what an accomplishment when you’re done! I enjoy your hike and feel for you during the tough parts! I want to hike the AT next year, but I have to go to the doctor to check on my hips first, they are hurting a lot and I am 60 years old. I’d rather have them checked out now and possibly delay my hike for a year than have to quit in the middle.

A dead mosquito makes a happy hiker..I guess your cold didn’t linger or your chewed up back? Benefits of crying: Detoxifies the body Helps self soothe Dulls pain Improves mood Rallies support Helps recover from grief Restores emotional balance Helps baby breathe It’s a necessary release so, go ahead and cry! Your mind, body and soul will be thankful…
