Great video of your hike! It’s a really good little overnight hike that one. I did it in winter last year and really enjoyed it. Great to see you back out on trails again! 👍

Thank you! Yeah I think its quite underrated. The ferns would have been beautiful in winter! 🌿

Awesome edit, beautiful hike, and a ton of fun - you never disappoint! I hope all is well, and you're enjoying 2021 so far! I have sooo many trips planned, and not enough time haha. Thanks as always :)

Thank you 😁😁haha that is always the case of too many trips for the amount of time! There is a new 13 day track opening up in my home state this year, so that will be a highlight :D

Funny you say that, my friend who I hike with, this was his first hike too! I took him on this track about 4 years ago to prep for the Overland Track. So it was interested going back again! :)

@@theadventuresofzoomandbettie aww! Always so exciting when you come across an echidna no matter how many times you've seen one :D

@@settohike For sure! Kangaroos and emu's are fun, koalas wombats and echidnas are not as common to come across in the places we normally go so I get extra excited about them! I never been fortunate enough to see a platypus in the wild yet!

Hi Hayley, from what you remember of Beeripmo, can you hike it in either direction or is it one way around the loop?
@settohike Жыл бұрын
I am 99% sure there is nothing stopping you from going in either direction :)

What backpack do you use? Be great to see what gear there is for women :)
@settohike2 жыл бұрын
The backpack in this video is by the brand Black Wolf. called Bugaboo (they make super comfy packs! I also use one of their packs for day hiking as well) Although now for multiday I use a pack by Hyperlite Mountain Gear (3400 southwest) I hired it for a week and ended up buying it as they were getting in newer ones for hire. So I didnt actually plan on buying it, it kind of just happened haha but considering its more of an 'utralight pack' its definitely made me think more about the weight of my gear inside the pack. :)

Great video as usual 👍 I used the exact same platform for dinner/breakfast too!! Thank you so much for suggesting this walk for me. I thoroughly enjoyed it! The ferns were excellent! Did you see any wallabies?
@settohike4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! haha only the best people get to use that platform! We didnt see any wallabies, it was cool that the wallaby you saw didnt jump very far away in your video! 😀

@@settohike ha ha - I didn't even realise it was still there until I moved and saw it between the ferns!

Hi in terms if navigation equipment, what would you recommend? i.e gps, mobile phone, map
@settohike3 жыл бұрын
I always carry some sort of physical map & compass, I try and get a proper map of an area but even if its just a small basic map, I still like to have something physical. I then use the app called Avenza on my phone (and make sure I bring a battery pack in case my phone were to die) I dont own a gps and i've never used one but in saying that I usually hike with other people and have never really strayed too far from proper made tracks. If I were to start doing a few more solo hikes or start to do a bit more sketchy hikes I would consider getting a gps as I guess it would never hurt to have too many tools for navigation. But for now a paper map and phone serve me well 🙂

Hi there, where is the best overnight hike that you can recommend in Victoria?
@settohike3 жыл бұрын
Mt Feathertop is pretty amazing, I’d go in the warmer weather though if you don’t like the cold. You could also look at any of the multi day hikes and just do one night and return the same way the next day such as Wilson’s promontory circuit or Grampians peaks trail. 🙂

Looks like a good little overnighter! Side bar . . . I see you put some cookies and milk together in a pot. . . What was the result and can you recommend?
@settohike4 жыл бұрын
It sure is! 🙂 haha ohhhh I can definitely recommend! 🍰It is meant to be chocolate ripple cake with just chocolate ripple biscuits and the long life cream. It somehow turns out amazing, my friend originally showed it to me I think this recipe deserves a video of its own 😋

@@settohike I was wondering the same thing... do you heat it up too? That looks like my kind of dessert! Great editing too by the way, cool vibe 😎
@settohike4 жыл бұрын
@@AmyOutdoors Thank you! Yeah and as it heats up the cream absorbs into the biscuits so you are left with a warm scrumptious cake 😍

@@debs_hiking_journey Make sure you get the cream instead of milk for a tastier cake! Although milk and cookies on a hike doesn't sound bad either 😉
