Maybe somebody will make a playlist based on the references in the lyrics. Others like Biggie and Pac were more obvious in the RIP part of the lyrics. Great song.

The first Ren video I've ever watched and the first Ren track I've ever listened to, after seeing him dominating on music reaction channels for around 2 years. He raps in a London accent, so I expected him to be from London, but no he's from Bangor, Wales. The only other Welsh rapper I know of (other than Goldie Lookin Chain group) who's named Local, and is from Cardiff, Wales, also sounds like he's from London.

He’s spent most of his adult life in Bristol London and Brighton so he speaks in that accent when he raps . I live in Brighton I’ve met ren may times and he doesn’t have even the slightest Welsh accent a little West Country maybe but definitely not welsh

He apparently used to go to my sisters house a lot, as he fancied my niece growing up, yet I don't remember him at all. I'm fairly sure I'd seen his former next door neighbour Lunar C at some point however, as I was sure I had seen him before he was famous, but where and when I have no idea.

Ren has a huge back catalogue - solo, duets, and with his band The Big Push. Rap, Rock, Blues, Ballads, Punk, Raggae, no country that I know of but it wouldn't surprise me lol. Then there is what his fans call Bardcore - epic songs/performances that tell full stories - Hi Ren; the Tales of Jenny, Screech & Violet (must watch in that order), the Money Game trilogy (especially Money Game 3). Ren writes & produces his own music, directs, his own music videos, makes (most of) his own beats & plays piano, bass, guitar & drums. You never know what you are going to get with a new Ren song - except sheer musical brilliance.

I enjoyed your reaction but why pause seconds from the end? It broke the last line, though the fact that he reversed the line you paused for, to the original Nas line... "death is the cousin of sleep" to "sleep is the cousin of death, so hold your breath" was appropriate. He obviously knew that people were going to pause it, to flaunt their knowledge, only to be caught out by the second part, 'so hold your breath!". Ren's a cheeky bugger. A clever cheeky bugger! :)

It’s pretty common for rappers to have studied rappers that came before them. They learn from them. Rapping is not something anyone can just ‘do’ so they study their verses to see how they were constructed etc
