Hi. Gary from NM here. We enjoy your vlogs so much and I dropping a comment tonight because you were an inspiration to us today. We saved a swarm of bees today and we were empowered by you and your videos. We found the queen. She was the last bee in the last clump to be examined. I remember the excitement the moment I spotted her. I didn't think I would be able to spot a queen in the masses of bees. I listened to you when you said to let the bees tell you where the queen is. It worked! And this video told me how long to keep her in the queen cage....you said a couple of days. Awesome, I can't believe I (with help from a friend) saved a swarm of bees. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.

Ericka is AMAZING! I have so many questions--how does she fight the fear response so well?? I work at a desk on my outdoor porch, and I get a few bees that come by to 'map' me, and it's SO HARD not to bat them away even telling myself that they don't want to hurt me. I watched in awe as Ericka was working with bees buzzing all around her in a really confined space and she didn't once lose her cool and start swatting at them or screaming--how the heck does she DO that?? I just hear the buzz and I stiffen, even though if a bee gets into my house I immediately go into 'rescue mode' and get them outside again, so I don't move to kill them, but MAN, the fear response is brutal to deal with!

I admire your gentle handling and respectful attitude towards the bees 🐝. I saw a few videos from another bee ”rescuer”/farmer, where he and his crew took a lot of the honey combe they found in the wild for themselves instead of letting the bees have it. In one video he decided to exterminate an entire colony because the bees were ”aggressive”. Before he did that, he accidentally killed the Queen by dropping her to the ground and *stomped on her* while he was attempting to show her to the camera.
@cameronmiyao2673 Жыл бұрын
I remember that guy, I stopped watching pretty much as soon as I heard him say they were 'unnaturally aggressive'.
@MatildaV1980 Жыл бұрын
@@cameronmiyao2673 yeah! I was so enraged by that! He has no buisness being in the bee buisness, if you ask me! He has no respect for the bees, nor any understanding of their behaviour. I watched most of the video and took gleeful joy in every stung he got. But in the end I was just sad, when he succeeded in his aim to kill the entire colony.

I used to be a semi truck driver and for some reason bees were attracted to my truck, especially my cab (i used lavender oil for migraines, i think that's why). I always felt bad when I couldn't usher them out before I had to move on. I feel better knowing other hives possibly took them in.
