You can just imagine, the 38 year old Beethoven, sitting at the piano after a long concert. He had written the orchestra and choral parts and he sat and improvised on the piano - all at the same time conducting the orchestra, vocal soloists and choir. It must have been incredible.

Als Jugendlicher war ich am Konzert mit Martha Argerich und Charles Dutoit in Bern. Noch jetzt kriege ich Hühnerhaut. Mit Ove Andsenes ist das Konzert unglaublich schön.
