Dear Mr Huber... I am neither a musician nor a music critic... just an old lady who happens to appreciate classical piano, and who favors this piece so much she returns to it regularly. If there are "flaws" I don't know about them and don't care. As for your expression, I feel it is totally appropriate and the smile at the conclusion is very well earned. Please post more videos! (Can I put in a plea for some Chopin?)

You are so kind Dear Lady Sheryl. I only wanted to you thank you for your humble comment. It's nice to know that there are still good people in the world. And I’m so sorry about my broken English. 🌸 Goodbye.🌸

I think that the very consistent tempo may have been felt as 'unemotional' by some people, but to me made it feel more powerful and forceful, without sounding overly deliberate.
@mysteriev70714 жыл бұрын
It depends on what piece you are playing. If it has a "march" feel, like this piece then consistent tempo would be good. But if it very slow and emotional piece, like Barber - Adagio for strings, then it will sound shallow and robotic, like a midi player.
@Bigblackpiano4 жыл бұрын
it isn't even that slow. Gould's version is actually slower.... :)

This song to most may be fit for the end of the world, where the villains won and all hope is lost. But I think it represents beauty. This beautiful piece represents beauty... and knowledge... seeing the world evolve in front of our eyes and flowers blooming in the sun...

What a stunning, honest and unaffected performance. Found it by accident, what fortune? Totally generous and devoid of ego on the part of the pianist who only shows any sign of self indulgence with his understated smile at the end. Beautiful, thank you.

What a touching performance. This is my favorite Beethoven piece - I’ve only heard it in an orchestra - never heard it strictly on piano before. You beautifully brought it life. Thank you that. Look forward to hearing your next work. Keep going! You got this 🤜💥 +1 sub

Dude... that Liszt with his brilliant transcription. Can you imagine Liszt listening to the orchestral piece and thinking... "I'm gonna transcribe that for piano and it's gonna be just as powerful as an acoustic single-instrument piece" ? That's why this video is so special. It highlights two powerhouses: Beethoven and Liszt. I think that Balu der Bär knows this as he plays... with his little smile at the end of the performance.

You playing is just perfect, and the steady tempo isn't really a problem. But when it comes to the part somewhere around 3:26, it's written "Marcatissimo", which means it should not be as soft as you play it. Nice job at playing it though!

Bereft of status but brimming with purpose, Gabriel gave the angels amassed at the gate of the auditorium one last message before leaving Heaven for the very last time. His arm outstretched, without a word, the people saw. In the silence the message rang out to the far ends of the cosmos.
