What I enjoy in particular about the Kissin recordings of the 5 concertos is the sound quality.

Fluffy and light. Beethoven was in his late teens when he composed this and his hearing was obviously far better than when he was older, so I'm not surprised in retrospect to feel the influences of Mozart.

Early Beethoven and late Mozart resemble each other in several ways, not surprising really.

Just music in common:no theme, no passion just passages, chords and arpegios

Wow that is good music. Beethoven may have been the least talented of the top 5 classical composers. But his music is just vastly superior. It draws me in and keeps me engaged. It soothes my brain unlike any other classical music.

Least talented (But vastly superior music)? That makes no sense whatsoever, why would you even write such nonsense?

Ian Jenkins i totally agree dude but it still sounds amazing
@andrenewcomb37088 жыл бұрын
+Ian Jenkins I think he makes it appear as though a lot of the others are hacks OR spending too much time with only one instrument. Taking-in other voices (not just in orchestra/orchestral voices) . . . all other genres . . . helps to create/interpret multiple voice within a work. It's amazing how his hands fly all over the keyboard and he lands so softly . . . and so many times.

Perhaps you are reacting to the prevalent view that Beethoven is a composer of explosive music. In part this is due to modern performance practices. Remember B. wrote a broad variety of music from the comical. to the gentle to the robust.

Really? Then can I please know who is your favorite pianist for these concerto by Beethoven? I'd love to hear him or her please! :)
