A superb performance of Beethoven's 'start at the top', or rather above the top. The string quartet reached a very high level with Haydn, Mozart took it higher till he died, then Haydn took it still higher, then Beethoven went even higher with his first string quartets Op18. So this work was then the highest point in human existence. Only Beethoven was to take it further in history till today.
