This piece which you played earlier today has haunted me all day. I'm going back to playing the piano and will get the music if it's not in our music collection. Thank you, WQXR, for making life beautiful. Or should I say, thank you, Beethoven, and WQXR for sharing his genius.

If the entire repertoire of Beethoven was wholly like this piece, he would not be only great, but greater.

Hi Phil, thanks for sharing this, it’s wonderful with the sheet music available while playing. Just wondering who played this piece? Is it you or someone else? The way it is played is very much similar to that by Glenn Gould I think, although a bit faster. The interpretation by Gould is my favorite, it’s so touching and beautiful that, in my humble opinion, no one can even compare.

That’s not the right rhythm- that first 32d note is way too long. He’s playing the first 32d note in the phrase with the value of the 16th note, and is playing the 16th note as the 32d note. He must be using a different edition
