Magnificent rendering of this Masterpiece...if you think that Beethoven was "not hearing", is umbelievable how he can compose this Simphony...He really speaks to the entire Humankind...

I love the horns in the 5th movement, one of my favorite uses of horns. In 9:36 it just....the way that the movement starts to pick up but the horns slow it down again and you feel so blissed out. It's like you're ready to go have fun but then you kind of stop yourself before you go off and you're like man I gotta enjoy this...this is important....Idk it's such a nice sound, I've never heard horns used in that way.

This reminds me of a transition through time. 3rd movement: Everyone is active during the afternoon. 4th movement: It becomes nighttime. The moon cannot be seen. The stars cannot be seen as well. There are way too much clouds. It's a storm. Everyone panics and goes into their homes. Many plants were destroyed. It was intense. Like, can you imagine that? No. But this is kinda similar to the sonnet that Beethoven assigned to this movement. Too much stormy clouds. Some houses were struck by lightning. You cannot imagine how bad that would be. Now people would be scared to think of this. But if not, then continue on. It was an intense storm that lasted an entire night. Then eventually it cools down. Then back again. Then cools down. I can't tell you how much times it took. Then it stops before the morning. That's a relief. 5th movement: The sun comes up and it becomes morning. Everyone wakes up.

Though I prefer 3rd movement came from Austrian folk dance melody more, however, 5th movement also makes me thrill. At 10:31 the violin and cello are talking each other like "My sound is better", "No, mine is better." But what came next is the complete harmony between the violin and cello at 10:53. Harmony, is the nature of pastoral.

The theme starting at 1:03 sounds like the famous children's song (of which this theme was "borrowed") "where o where has my little dog gone"
@smalin7 жыл бұрын
Beethoven wrote this in 1808, and the German folk song (that the melody for "Where O Where Has My Little Dog Gone" came from) was written in 1827. So there might be a connection ... you might want to do some research ...
@TerryUniGeezerPeterson7 жыл бұрын
I should have been more clear; I meant the folk song borrowed from Beethoven's theme, not the reverse.
@smalin7 жыл бұрын
We don't know whether the German folk song was borrowed from Beethoven or was composed independently a generation later. (That is, I don't know.)

La commedia è finita? Don`t think so. For me and I suppose a lot of us, its the graphical score that is paramount. You want Karajan or Nagano, get it on cd or flac, better yet Deutch Grammophone 9 vynil set! I also meant that gen y uses what you invented. And have no clue who is behind it. I showed a few what YOU own and is duplicated. Having a kid tell me I use this all the time and do not care who squared it, annoys me. You get flack for using obscure ensembles and yet your graphic software is pirated. Ah wwtvr. Thanks for all your continued works and efforts. Hats off again.

jfcc9086 I would like to use the best recordings, but licenses to use Karajan, Nagano, etc. are very expensive (if they are available at all).

smalin I know! A band wants to play Zappa in a bar, has to pay his widow`s trust. So they do not. Its absurd. This blocks the spreading of art. Everybody loses. Did anyone think you, doing a piece, is actually an add that promotes? Noooo... You are a courageous music scholar Prof. Malinowsky.

+Maximilien De Cannière I'm sorry, if you want to know more about the performers, I can't help you. The recording was pirated, it turns out, and the "Bezdin Ensemble" does not exist.
