Beethoven: Symphony No. 3, Cluytens & BPO (1958) ベートーヴェン 交響曲第3番 クリュイタンス

45年位前に初めて購入した3番です。当時はワルターの3番との2枚を聴いていました。すでにクリュイタンスは亡くなっていましたがもう少し生きていてほしい指揮者でした。当時、フルトウェングラーの無公開版が何種類か公表されていた時期で、フルトウェングラー人気にあやかったものでした。その中で、クリュイタンス指揮のNO３がフルトウェングラーの未公開版として発売されて偽物だとばれた事が有りました。馬鹿なことをする奴（世界的な大手レコード会社）もいるものですが、私はクリュイタンスはプロのレコード屋から見てもフルトウェングラーに比肩するほどの指揮者なんだと改めて思いました。素晴らしい指揮者であるクリュイタンスのNO3は、当時以上に心に響きます。見直されてもいい指揮者だと思います。

ベルリンフィル初のベートーヴェン交響曲全集を指揮したのは首席指揮者だったカラヤンではなく、このクリュイタンスでした。 ベルリンフィル初のミュージックビデオ(交響曲第３番”英雄”)の指揮者はもっと意外なことにクーベリック(しかも対向配置)でした。 ベルリンフィル初の交響曲全集録音をDGよりEMIが先駆けたこと自体が意外ですし、ベルリンフィル側を納得させる企画であったことの証左でしょう。

This is an excellent "Eroica" with an especially fine finale. It joins my other past favorite performances, including Koussevitzky (who got a unique "snap" into the horn passage in the scherzo's trio [33:19] that I've never heard duplicated), Monteux, and Horenstein. Cluytens offers a softer-hued performance which is effective nonetheless, perhaps not providing an immediate impact so much as a remembered strength. He understood what makes Beethoven's music live and breathe.

This is the first version of the eroic a that I heard. For me, the best. Heard this about45 years ago. A magnificent rendition.

One of the four very great performances of it, the others being Konwitschny, Swarowsky with the Bamberg (South German Ph.), Vaclav Neumann, and Matacic.
