8:55 remember in the 1st, when Otho said that when you die from the "cide", your afterlife is basically public service? Continuity. lol I liked this movie a lot, but i wish that they either gave BJ's wife more agency or cut the storyline and just went with Astrid's thing with the boy and expanded that. 17:52 finding out that he's Italian is pretty cool, in the first when he invited the Maitland's into his grave for dinner he told them " I hope you like Italian". I wonder how his name is actually supposed to be pronounced though..

They did a great job explaining why the pervert actor who played the dad in the OG wasn’t there. The audience knew precisely why he wasn’t there and they gave the audience a satisfying death!

I haven't seen many who noticed that the end montage had the same music, fuzzy, bright lighting like the end scene in Carrie. Thus, at least to me, showing it was a dream sequence also.

the musical number was sung by the OG Dumbledore, aka Richard Harris... -the end sequence was leaving the door open for "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice"

The way they handled the Jeffrey Jones situation was beautifully spiteful. I do wish they had explained or shown what happened to Adam & Barbara though.

This is only the second sequel Burton’s ever done after Batman Returns, which shows just how much he believed in it.
@Painocus3 сағат бұрын
I'm actually happy they didn't bring Adam and Barbara back for this movie. Them moving on feels like the logical end step for their characters, and bringing them back just for fan-service would feel like a disservice to the characters for me. Especially since they would have either had to recast them or do some weird CGI deaging stuff, since they don't have the makeup to hide the age-difference as much as Micheal Keaton. I do wish they had spent a bit more time on what they meant to Lydia now that she is older and without them tho. I actually don't think there were too many subplots, I just think they were handled them a bit weirdly. For example I feel like Beetlejuice suddenly showing up in Lydia's life again should have been saved until after he knows his wife is back. That would have tied those two plots together much stronger, as one would be the direct result of the other (instead of him just ramping up his involvement). The final confrontation with the wife should also have been a bigger deal I feel like, but that's more down to the structuring and the emphasis of the scene itself. The original Beetljuice was itself already somewhat a jumble of loose plots, so I don't think that's inherently an issue in on itself.

There was no possible way to have Adam and Barbara in the movie. The actors have aged far too much. It only works for Michael Keaton because they can cover him up with make up.

37:49 The song is called "MacArthur Park". I only know because we played it in band when I was in high school! That was the only reason why the son resonated with me. 42:18 I've been to Dracula's castle, also as a band experience, but jazz ensemble in college. We went to Hungary and Romania for 2 weeks over the summer of 1997. 45:59 "The juice is loose" was in both the teaser and the trailer, so not sure why it bothered you so much, but to each their own, even though I feel like you totally swayed Nikki's opinion. 😊

I know y'all weren't impressed with 'MacArthur Park' musical part....I looked into it & found out that the original Professor Dumbledore himself is the dude that originally sang it....apparently its about a break up & everything the songwriter & his ex used to see in MacArthur Park & using the melting cake in the rain as a metaphor for the dissolving of the relationship....btw I bought a baby Beetlejuice figurine from Walmart

"Oh my God please shut up" is how I felt every time that scummer opened his mouth. Also, at first I thought the soul train passengers looked eerily similar to the zombies in Dawn of the Dead and I figured since there are so many practical effects artists on this project that it was a nod to Tom Savini. Then I realized they're just dead black people in 70s clothes.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (Beetlejuice III) The Last Movie
@vodengc5205 сағат бұрын
I liked the movie overall, but I think the main problem is that there were just too many plotlines crammed into the movie, and none of them got the proper amount of time to really get going (or getting properly resolved). That and the final musical bit went on way too long. I honestly would've cut out the entire plot with Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe, as much as I like both of those actors. Just keep the plotline with the kids and Beetlejuice hounding Lydia (Delia and Charles was overall okay, just sad Jeffrey Jones is a creeper and ruined his chance to properly be in this movie). That said, Michael Keaton is a legend. He brought nearly his A-game again, I just wish he was a little bit more manic like he was in the first one, he felt kind of subdued. But he still stole every scene he was in, and that shot of him singing Richard Marx in the model was the most hilarious part of the movie to me.

I'm totally with Steven on this one and I'm a huge Monica Bellucci fan. Too many plots and not only they decided to change so many things in the afterlife without explanation, they didn't even stick to the lore. You're only a burocrat on the other life if you signed off early of life not in an accident or murdered, so the dad working there doesn't make sense unless he jumped in the piranha infested water. The ex-wife looking for Beetlejuice felt important for like 2 seconds and then it wasn't even connected at all to the main plot if there was any. Also hated the change in Lydia's personality out of nowhere, at the end of the first movie she was floating and vibing with ghosts and now she's traumatized and is a push over? c'mon. I went to the movies and forgot all about it until I saw your reaction. I'm happy for the people that liked it but I didn't maybe because I expected a lot.
@GCT19903 минут бұрын
I'm with John on this. My thing is it's too weird, Less was more in the original which is why it worked but this after world was just annoyingly weird for no reason. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Hocus Pocus 2 are my biggest let downs because I waited so damn long for a sequel and they made them for the left and kids, Hocus pocus and drag Queen's all the way to Beetlejuice and overly coloured afterlife worlds... Like the afterlife felt like I wading The Munsters by Rob Zombie all over again and I just couldn't

I dunno, I kinda liked the most of it, considering I never was a fan of Tim Burton. It did justice to the original, and Beetlejuice, the character, has much more screen time in this movie. Great casting and wacky humour. But I'm not a native English speaker, my perception of English jokes is skewed a bit. Did like the Soul Train joke though 😀 I was also thinking about similarities between mr. Juice, the Mask and Alladin's Genie: Whether Mask feels like Genie but with weed, Beetlejuice feels like Genie under the influence of some hard hallucinogens 🤣(don't do this stuff people) All in all Michael Keaton's performance was really the best part for me in this move. Rediculous, funny and extremely gross.
