There are some problems with the movie, but I absolutely adored it enough to look past them and it'll be a yearly October rewatch along with the first. As for the Dolores storyline, I think its there to have a slight antagonist for Beetlejuice and to take attention off Jeremy being an antagonist.

Gotta disagree with the guys here, had so much fun watching this, it wasn't a great movie but given Tim Burtons track record this is on the win column for his filmography! The women stole the show for me Jenna, Winona, Cathrine, and Monica were really fun to watch on screen!
@darrickbeitinger7664Ай бұрын
There’s a part in the final musical sequence where Winona Ryder and Beetlejuice float up in the air and the camera circles them probably about a dozen times… and I swear Winona Ryder was making the same face every single time and it was SO distracting

I think the intro to the original Beetlejuice transitions from real footage to model footage. That was brought to my attention on my second viewing. I believe this is also how the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice intro goes! Loving this episode, y’all rock!

I was surprised there was no mention of how they just left all of the Bob's just running amok in town at the end of the movie or that the Father of the church was such an alcoholic. Was also convinced he was Thin Man in Charlie's Angels but somehow that's a different actor lol

I'm with you Tim, in regards to Winona Ryder. I don't think she's a very good actor. She works fine in Stranger Things but otherwise everything I've seen her in she's been pretty weak.

Tim is insane. Ghostbusters 2016 is one of the worse movies ever. This movie had a ton of issues but was more fun and honored the sequel better.

I'd say that movie was more pointless than bad. It is without a doubt the worst Ghostbusters movie though. I also dont get why these guys didnt like Afterlife, and even Frozen Empire had some good stuff, especially Paul Rudd.

@@BasketCase-rr7tx yea sometimes their takes are strange, but to each his own. But I think 2016 was universally panned, while this movie has its fans and is making money at the box office.

@@YUPAWP I just checked Rotten Tomatoes and I was kinda surprised to see that Ghostbusters 2006 has a 74 from critics, it does only have a 49 from the audience score though. Man, bummer. Once again, I had SUCH a different reaction to this movie than the KF team. I watched both the original and this movie for the first time on the same day. I really enjoyed the original, though I thought it was pretty shallow and the enjoyable characters were basically Lydia, Beetlejuice, and the dead couple. With this sequel, I thought all the storylines worked so well, despite how many there were and how quickly they jumped among them. I thought the amount of enjoyable characters dwarfed the original, and I thought the core stories were deeper than the original. I really liked the original, but I LOVED Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

I'm with Tim on this one. Did not like this at all. Went with a group of friends and I was shocked when leaving the theater to hear people in my group saying that they "loved it" and giving it 4/5 stars on Letterboxd. We had just watched the original earlier THAT day - this sequel completely misses the mark and ends up being a huge nothingburger. If I were to rank all Tim Burton films I've seen, it's toward the bottom with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Alice in Wonderland.
