I saw the trailer a hour after it got posted and man did I almost try to make an attempt of doing a back flip. I'm so excited for this movie. Also Wynonna Ryder was my very first celebrity crush when I original was first released back when I was just a toddler. I'm excited to see my first crush reprising the role that got me having a crush on her.

Jenna Ortega seems to be a weird fit as the daughter of Lidia after playing Wednesday. My guess is there will be a bit of role reversal with Jenna playing the type of character that Lidia was in the first, and Lidia growing up perhaps to be a bit more like her mother in the first film.

It´s the most effective way not to employ the actor anymore because of what he did. Ironically for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice it´s also the most clever way to remove him storywise. I just wonder how they explain the Maitlands. As far as the infos go neither Alec Baldwein nor Geena Davis are in there two.

They were VERY conservative with this trailer, showing absolutely nothing unexpected or remotely surprising. That said, I am confident you will still like this movie. It uses numerous practical effects (NOT just computer graphics) unlike most modern movies and Tim Burton's fully in charge here. I've seen an extended cut that I'm not allowed to talk about, because my company does research for studio.

Precisely what a teaser is meant to do, just give you enough to want more. I'm happy to hear Tim Burton isn't going full CGI. That would certainly be the easier option (that said, I hope he doesn't use claymation).

I think they'll have moved on. While Beetlejuices/Keaton's age is covered by the makeup, it would be hard to keep them looking static in the age department(and theres also barring any controversy after Alec Baldwin's gun mishap...)

I don't know, getting too many Hocus Pocus 2 vibes from this. Also personally think Burton's older films were better back when studios didn't give him as much control, but I'll allow myself to be pleasantly surprised if it turns out good.

I can already tell you now that there are going to be a lot of disappointed fans, but not because the film won't be good. It'll be because superhyped sequels never live up to the hype. Plus many of us were younger when we saw the first film, so we'll be watching the sequel as adults. All of this to say, it'll probably be a good film, just maybe not a great film. You shouldn't go in with high expectations.
