Casper wasn't born a ghost.... He was a whole little boy who played in the snow and got sick and passed away. He haunted his father because he saw how sad it made him, so he stayed on earth instead of going to the afterlife. His father created the Lazarus machine to give him a new body.

I always thought that was just a throwaway gag in the first movie when he pulled out the rotting finger with the ring on it. Being a chaotic supernatural entity, he was pulling weird stuff out of thin air all the time. The fact that they built a whole story around that little sight gag follows an uncomfortable trend of forcing easter eggs/nostalgia into focus.

I notice that in the 2 movie, Bettejuice will still try to marry, now with Lydia daughter Astrid, that means that theres big reason of it, and the appearance of his first wife makes the plot more interested. Perhaps he swindle her outta something or there was a contract of sorts that he didn't like and bail out. But, i hope that they'll surprise us with the twist. Lets pray that we get to see a 3 film, we need it. But hope that we don't have to wait another 36 years...cause by that time, Keaton will indeed be a ghost hahaha, and Winona a Grandma.

He had to have been some kind of suicide to become a civil servant, (although they did not specify how he died but I’m thinking the green around his mouth and face might indicate poison or perhaps just skin problems from surviving the black plague.) became Juno’s assistant who went rogue and started doing bio exorcism, he was punished and now can only be summoned by calling his name three times. Before his death he’d apparently attended Juliard and somehow survived the black plague!

Well, I believe the backstory they’re referring to is from a third party perspective and not based on anything Betelgeuse says about himself. He’s like the joker in that his version of events isn’t to be trusted, but he does have an origin (which differs based on which comics or movies you’re going off of).

Lydia gives a big hint to the new back story in the trailer. She describes Beetlegeuse as, "a demon (who tried to force her into marrying him)." And in the original film, the "Exorcist" reference may be a line for a hilarious payoff in this sequel. Also, a passenger plane goes down at the end of the trailer. My guess is it goes down at the very beginning or end of the film. All this is IMHO.

If the back story has something to do with the trailer I think the story's going to be very similar to what we saw with beetlejuice Cartoon Network... Like maybe the back story is going to be part from what happened in the cartoon and maybe him in Lydia did ended up together maybe it's gonna turn out that her daughter is actually beetle juice's daughter... Remember in the second trailer Lydia said that she thought he was gone forever was she referring to the first film or was she referring to something else something that happened after the first film... That kind of story could explain why Alec Baldwin and Gwynn Davis character is nowhere in the movie Beetlejuice beetlejuice... I mean after all they will have to find out a way to write off those 2 characters like they did with Jeffrey Lydia's dad who died and who was also wouldn't be in the film if he was still Alive because he got into a lot of legal Trouble child predator stuff.

Seeing BJ aged doesn’t sit right with me, it doesn’t make sense for a ghost to age and in the first film it’s even discussed that they’re stuck how they were at time of death soooo.. Still looking forward to the film just kinda worried about it. That movie was on film and everything looks different being filmed digital. Films that wait too long for a sequel lose their charm. Dumb and Dumber Too, Joe Dirt 2, Coming to America 2, any comedy sequel that comes out 10+ years later. Wishing for the best though, I have faith in Tim Burton.

The series added characters but some may have been with the franchise since 1970s. There were many recurring HB characters. Some may not have been part of the BM franchise from the early years (60s & 70s), but they were Hanna Barbara characters. Some may have been made for the show. Let me list which characters I remember (who weren't there as Harvey's clients). Most of these weren't, ...)
